Music Of Norway
Much has been learned about early music in Norway from physical artifacts found during archaeological digs. These include instruments such as the lur. Viking and medieval sagas also describe musical activity, as do the accounts of priests and pilgrims from all over Europe coming to visit St Olaf's grave in Trondheim. In the later part of the 19th century, Norway experienced economic growth leading to greater industrialization and urbanization. More music was made in the cities, and opera performances and symphony concerts were considered to be of high standards. In this era both prominent composers (like Edvard Grieg and Johan Svendsen) and performers combined the European traditions with Norwegian tones. The import of music and musicians for dance and entertainment grew, and this continued in the 20th century, even more so when gramophone records and radio became common. Madden (music Producer)
Marius Njølstad (born February 6, 1989), professionally known as Madden, is a Norwegian singer, songwriter and producer. He started his solo career in 2016, when he signed with Warner Music Norway. Career Marius had an early interest in music, and started playing the piano at age 7. His dedication to music led him to take a degree in jazz at Berklee in Copenhagen, as well as a degree in arrangement/music technology at the Norwegian Academy of Music. Through his studies he met Daniel Wold, and they created the duo Kontraktor together, following a writing session back in 2010. In their debut year, they won the John Lennon Songwriting Contest with their track "''Bocce Ball''" in the category Electronic. Still, their collab ended two years later. Madden has not only worked in the thriving music industry he has also worked as an extra music teacher in music schools while he was in Sweden. Norway In The Eurovision Song Contest 1989
Norway was represented by Britt Synnøve, with the song "Venners nærhet", at the 1989 Eurovision Song Contest, which took place on 6 May in Lausanne, Switzerland. "Venners nærhet" was chosen as the Norwegian entry at the Melodi Grand Prix on 11 March. Before Eurovision Melodi Grand Prix 1989 The final was held at the Forum in Stavanger, hosted by Øystein Bache. Nine songs took part in the televised final, of which three songs were selected for a "super final". The winner was decided by a five-way jury; an expert jury made up of professional musicians, a press jury, and three public juries split by age group. Other participants included 1987's Kate Gulbrandsen, three-time Norwegian representative and MGP regular Jahn Teigen and Tor Endresen, who would represent Norway in 1997. Ingrid Helene Håvik
Ingrid Helene Håvik (born 1987 in Ålesund, Norway) is a Norwegian songwriter and vocalist. She is best known as the lead singer of Highasakite but has also released a solo album under the artist name Ingrid. Biography Håvik is a former member of the band Your Headlights Are On with a self-titled album in 2011. Highasakite was formed the same year, and they released their debut album ''All That Floats Will Rain'' the next year, with Håvik as one of the main composers. In 2014 the second album ''Silent Treatment'' was released, with all music and lyrics composed by Håvik. For this album, she won the category This years composer during the 2014 Spellemannprisen. She was also nominated in the category text writer, while the band won the category Pop Group of the Year for the album. Hans Hulbækmo
Hans Hulbækmo (born 1989) is a Norwegian musician (drums, percussion, saw, Jew's harp and vibraphone) and composer, son of the traditional folk musicians Tone Hulbækmo and Hans Fredrik Jacobsen, brother of pianist Alf Hulbækmo, and known from several Norwegian bands as Broen, Hanna Paulsberg Concept, Skadedyr, Moskus, Atomic, Kalenda Maya and his collaboration with Anders Røine. Career Hulbækmo studied music on the Jazz program at Trondheim Musikkonsevatorium, NTNU, where he joined the acoustic jazz band "Moskus" together with fellow students, Fredrik Luhr Dietrichson (double bass) from Haugesund and Anja Lauvdal (piano) from Flekkefjord, at NTNU. Magnus Skavhaug Nergaard (born 20 November 1989 in Tranby, Norway) is a Norwegian Jazz musician (upright bass & bass guitar), known from bands like Monkey Plot, Mummu, Ronja and Ich Bin N!ntendo. Jakob Terjesønn Rypdal (born 27 October 1989 in Oslo, Norway) is a Norwegian Electronica artist and guitarist. Amina Sewali (born 23 June 1989) is a Norwegian singer, songwriter, and actress.
