Rudy Gunawan
Rudy Gunawan (; born 31 December 1966) is a former Indonesian badminton player who played between 1980s and 1990s. He is arguably one of the best doubles players ever to play for Indonesia. Rudy Gunawan won various international championships, both in the men's doubles and mixed doubles events. He has paired up with players such as Eddy Hartono, Rosiana Tendean, Bambang Suprianto, and Ricky Subagja. He was on the Thomas Cup team of Indonesia five times (1988, 1990, 1992, 1994, and 1996) but only won gold in 1994 and 1996. In addition, he helped strengthen the Indonesian team in the race for 1989 Sudirman Cup. Rudy twice competed in the Summer Olympics. Nong Qunhua (; born July 20, 1966) is a former international badminton player from China who specialized in women's doubles. Career Nong was one of the world's leading women's doubles players of the early 1990s, winning the IBF World Championships in 1991 with Guan Weizhen and in 1993 with Zhou Lei. With Guan, Nong also won the 1990 Asian Games, was a silver medalist at the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona, and was a runner-up at the 1992 All England Championships. Yanti Kusmiati (born 22 December 1962) is a former Indonesian badminton player who was active during the 1980s. Career Kusmiati was born in Bogor, West Java. She is the daughter of Esther Tunjung Wulan, Indonesian former badminton player, coach and international referee. She graduated from Ragunan Sports School and joined Prasetya Mulya (PSM) Jakarta. Kusmiati is a former Indonesian badminton player who specializes in women's doubles paired with Verawaty Fajrin. She and her teammates won the first edition of the World Mixed Team Championship, the 1989 Sudirman Cup in Jakarta and became a member of the Indonesian women's team at the World Women's Team Championship, the Uber Cup in 1986, 1988, and 1990. Verawaty Fadjrin (; 1 October 1957 – 21 November 2021) was an Indonesian badminton player who won international titles spanning from the late 1970s to the end of the 1980s. Tall and powerful, at one time or another she played each of the three variations of the sport (singles, doubles, and mixed doubles) at the highest world level. Career During a relatively brief period as a regular singles competitor, Fadjrin won the 1980 IBF World Championships in Jakarta over fellow countrywoman Ivana Lie. Chung So-young (; born 20 February 1967) is a former badminton player from South Korea. She was a gold medalist at the Barcelona Olympics in 1992 in the women's doubles together with Hwang Hye-young, and was inducted into the Badminton Hall of Fame in 2003.
