The 1987 U.S. Figure Skating Championships took place in January 1987 at the Tacoma Dome in Tacoma, Washington. Tacoma, Washington
Tacoma ( ) is the county seat of Pierce County, Washington, United States. Paul Stanton Wylie (born October 28, 1964) is an American figure skater, and the 1992 Olympic silver medalist in men's singles skating. Personal life Paul Stanton Wylie was born on October 24, 1964 in Dallas, Texas to Bob Wylie (a geophysicist) and B.L. Wylie (a realtor) — the youngest of three children. In Dallas, he attended St. Mark's School of Texas. When he was eleven, his family moved to Denver, Colorado, where he focused increasingly on skating and graduated from Colorado Academy. Wylie attended Harvard University and graduated in 1991 with a degree in government. After competing in the 1992 Winter Olympics, as he planned, he retired from amateur competition and began his professional skating career. Gillian Wachsman
Gillian Margaret Wachsman (born September 19, 1966) is an American former pair skater. With Todd Waggoner, she is the 1985 NHK Trophy champion, 1985 Skate America bronze medalist, and 1986 U.S. national champion. The pair competed at the 1988 Winter Olympics, placing fifth, and at three World Championships, placing as high as fourth. Career Early in her career, Gillian Wachsman competed with Robert Daw. They placed fourth at the 1984 Skate America and won the pewter medal twice at the U.S. Championships. Wachsman teamed up with Todd Waggoner in the autumn of 1984. In their first season together, they took the bronze medal at the U.S. Championships. Cindy Bortz-Gould is an American former figure skater. She is the 1987 World Junior Figure Skating champion. Biography Bortz was born and raised in Tarzana, California, and is Jewish. She began skating at eight years old, and entered her first competition a year later. In 1985 she came in second in the Novice Level at the 1985 U.S. Figure Skating Championships. At age 14, 4-foot-8-inches tall and weighing 80 pounds, Bortz won the Junior Ladies gold medal at the 1986 U.S. National Figure Skating Championships, beating silver medalist Susanne Becher of West Germany.
