The 13th Metro Manila Film Festival was held in 1987. Six entries participated in the 10-day festival. Rosario Violeta Solís Hernández, better known as Charito Solís (October 6, 1935 – January 9, 1998), was a FAMAS and Gawad Urian Award-winning Filipina film actress, in addition to being the first Philippine woman who have bared her chest in recorded film. Profile Rosario Violeta Solís Hernández was born in Manila. At age 19, she was introduced by her uncle, the film director F. H. Constantino to Doña Narcisa de León, the head of LVN Pictures, who cast her to star in her initial movie ''Niña Bonita'', an adaptation of Frank Capra's ''It Happened One Night''. The film was a success, and marked the beginning for Solís of a 43-year career in film that lasted until her death. Solís died on January 9, 1998, in Calamba City from cardiac arrest. Francis Michael Durango Magalona (October 4, 1964 – March 6, 2009), also known by the moniker Francis M, was a Filipino rapper, singer, songwriter, entrepreneur, actor, and television personality. Born in Manila, He became a significant influence to artists in the Pinoy hip-hop scene and the local rap community. Beyond music, Magalona was also a television host on MTV Asia and Channel V Philippines and on the noontime variety television show ''Eat Bulaga!''. Dick Israel
Ricardo Vizcarra Michaca (10 December 1947 – 11 October 2016), known by his stage name Dick Israel, was a Filipino character actor who played mostly villain and sidekick roles in many Filipino movies. He later branched out in television playing father and supporting roles. On 11 October 2016, Israel suffered blood vomiting, and later died in his home, according to actress Vivian Velez, a member of the Damay Kamay Foundation. He was 68. His wife, Marilyn Michacha, died less than week later due to unrelated circumstances.
