1987 Acropolis International Basketball Tournament
The Acropolis International Tournament 1987 was the second edition of the Acropolis International Basketball Tournament. It was held from May 18 to May 20, 1987, at the SEF arena in Piraeus, Athens, Greece. The competition is played under FIBA rules as a round-robin tournament. The participating teams were the hosts, Greece, as well as Yugoslavia, Canada, and the Czechoslovakia. The tournament featured famous international basketball players such as Nikos Galis, Dražen Petrović, Vlade Divac, Toni Kukoč, Stanislav Kropilák, Stojko Vranković, Jay Triano, Panagiotis Giannakis and Panagiotis Fasoulas. Points Per Game
Points per game, often abbreviated PPG, is the average number of points scored by a player per game played in a sport, over the course of a series of games, a whole season, or a career. It is calculated by dividing the total number of points by number of games. The terminology is often used in basketball and ice hockey. Nikos Linardos
Nikos Linardos ( el, Νίκος Λινάρδος; born August 26, 1963, in Greece) is a retired Greek professional basketball player and coach. During his playing career, at a height of 2.03 m (6'8") tall, he played at the power forward position. Professional career Linardos played club basketball with the Greek League team Panionios. He was a member of the Panionios team that finished in 2nd place in the Greek League in 1987 (the club's highest ever finish in the league), and he was also a member of the Panionios team that won the 1991 Greek Cup (the only title in the club's history). Liveris Andritsos
Liveris Andritsos ( el, Λιβέρης Ανδρίτσος; born December 31, 1959, in Athens, Greece) is a retired Greek professional basketball player and coach. At a height of 2.02 m (6'7 ") tall, he could play at both the small forward and power forward positions. Professional career Andritsos started his career with Esperos Kallitheas. In 1982, he moved to Panathinaikos, and with them he won the Greek League championship in 1984, and the Greek Cup title in 1983 and 1986. At the end of his career, Andritsos was the top scorer in Panathinaikos' history, since the A1 Division of the Greek League was formed (since the 1986–87 season), as he had scored 2,088 points. Panagiotis "Panos" Fasoulas (alternate spelling: Fassoulas; Greek: Παναγιώτης Φασούλας; born May 12, 1963 in Thessaloniki) is a Greek politician and former professional basketball player. He was selected in the second round by the Portland Trail Blazers in the 1986 NBA draft, but never decided to play in the NBA. Ilario Enrico "Eli" Pasquale (August 24, 1960 – November 4, 2019) was a Canadian basketball player. A 6-foot, 1-inch point guard, he led the Canadian national men's basketball team during two Olympic Games, three FIBA World Championships, and two Pan American Games.
