1986 Meath Intermediate Football Championship
The 1986 Meath Intermediate Football Championship is the 60th edition of the Meath GAA's premier club Gaelic football tournament for intermediate graded teams in County Meath, Ireland. The tournament consists of 18 teams. The championship starts with a group stage and then progresses to a knock out stage. This was Ballinabrackey's return to the grade after a four-year absence as they were promoted from the J.F.C. after claiming the 1985 Meath Junior Football Championship title. On 19 October 1986, Gaeil Colmcille marked their 20th anniversary with their 1st Intermediate championship title since being formed from the Drumbaragh Emmets and Kells Harps clubs in 1966, when they defeated Meath Hill 1–6 to 0–7 in the final at Kells. Meath Intermediate Football Championship
Meath Intermediate Football Championship is an annual Gaelic Athletic Association second-tier competition between Gaelic football clubs organised by Meath GAA. The winning club is promoted to the Meath Senior Football Championship. In the 2021 final, Trim defeated Oldcastle. Each year, the final takes place in Pairc Tailteann, Navan. The winning club competes in the Leinster Intermediate Club Football Championship. The current (2021) champions are Trim. Qualification for subsequent competitions Meath Intermediate Club Football Championship The Meath IFC winner qualifies for the Leinster Intermediate Club Football Championship. It is the only team from County Meath to qualify for this competition. The 1985 Meath Senior Football Championship is the 93rd edition of the Meath GAA's premier club Gaelic football tournament for senior graded teams in County Meath, Ireland. The tournament consists of 14 teams, with the winner going on to represent Meath in the Leinster Senior Club Football Championship. The championship starts with a group stage and then progresses to a knock out stage. Walterstown were the defending champions once again after they defeated Skryne in the previous years final to claim the "3-in-a-Row", but Skryne claimed their revenge when ending the Black's winning streak at the semi-final stage. Slane returned to the senior grade after claiming the 1984 Meath Intermediate Football Championship title. Navan O'Mahonys claimed their 11th S.F.C. title when defeating Skryne 0–10 to 0–7 in the final on 29 September 1985. Wolfe Tones GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club which comprises an amalgamation of the parishes of Oristown and Kilberry which are situated roughly halfway between the town of Navan and the town of Kells, in County Meath, Ireland. Navan O'Mahony's is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in the town of Navan in County Meath, Ireland. The club competes in Meath competitions. With 20 Senior Football wins they are the most successful football club in Meath. Rathkenny GFC is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the small village of Rathkenny, in County Meath, Ireland. The club takes part in Meath GAA competitions. Gaeil Colmcille CLG is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in the town of Kells, County Meath, Republic of Ireland, Ireland. The club currently plays at senior level in the Meath Senior Football Championship and play their home games at Grangegodden and Pairc Colmcille. History The club was founded in 1964 and had almost immediate success, reaching the Meath Senior Football final in 1964 but lost by 2 points to Kilbride GFC 0-08 to 0-06. Meath Junior Football Championship
The Meath Junior Football Championship is an annual Gaelic football competition contested by lower-tier Meath GAA clubs. The winner of this championship will be promoted to the Intermediate division. The winner also represents Meath in the Leinster Junior Club Football Championship. The 2021 Meath Junior Football Championship was won by St Vincent's, who defeated Dunsany in the final 1-4 to 0-6. Competition format Up until 1971, the Junior 'A' winners played against the Junior 'B' winners in the Junior Championship final, even though the teams involved in the final had played in different grades of football throughout the season.
