Gerson Camata
Gerson Camata (June 29, 1941 – December 26, 2018) was a Brazilian journalist and politician. Camata served in Federal Senate for three terms from 1987 until 2011. He was also the first person directly elected Governor of Espírito Santo, an office he held from 1983 to 1986, following the restoration of democracy in the 1980s. On December 26, 2018, Camata was shot and killed outside a restaurant in the upscale neighborhood of Vitória, Espírito Santo by his former aide. Biography Camata graduated from Federal University of Espírito Santo with a degree in economics. He worked as a journalist and host for Radio Espírito Santo, where he covered crime and the police. In 1967, Camata began his political career as a Vitória city alderman for the National Renewal Alliance (ARENA), the party of the military dictatorship that ruled Brazil at the time. Ramez Tebet
Ramez Tebet (7 November 1936, in Três Lagoas – 17 November 2006, in Campo Grande) was a Brazilian politician and lawyer. He represented Mato Grosso do Sul in the Federal Senate from 1995 to 2006. The son of Taufic Tebet and Angelina Jaime Tebet, he came from a traditional Arab-Brazilian family. Tebet graduated from the Faculty of Law at UERJ (State University of Rio de Janeiro) in 1959. He was mayor of his hometown, Três Lagoas, in the 1970s. Tebet also served as secretary of Justice, deputy governor and governor of Mato Grosso do Sul. In the 1990s, he was minister of National Integration under President Fernando Henrique Cardoso (PSDB). From 20 September 2001 to 31 January 2003, Tebet was the President of the Senate. Wilson Barbosa Martins
Wilson Barbosa Martins (21 June 1917 – 13 February 2018) was a Brazilian centenarian, lawyer and politician affiliated with the Brazilian Democratic Movement (MDB). For Mato Grosso do Sul, he was governor of Mato Grosso do Sul for two terms, senator and federal deputy for two terms, as well as mayor of the future capital Campo Grande. Son of Henrique Martins and Adelaide Barbosa Martins, he was born at Fazenda São Pedro, an area that today corresponds to the municipality of Sidrolândia and at the time was a rural area of Campo Grande. At the age of 9, Wilson followed the family's move to the city of Entre Rios, now known as Rio Brilhante. The first studies began with his father and then in private schools in the city. In 1929, the family returned to Campo Grande so that Wilson and his brother Ênio could continue their studies.
