Austrian Bundesliga
The Austrian Football Bundesliga (german: Österreichische Fußball-Bundesliga, italic=no , "Austrian Football Federal League"), also known as Admiral Bundesliga for sponsorship reasons, is the top level of the Austrian football league system. The competition decides the Austrian national football champions, as well the country's entrants for the various European cups run by UEFA. Since Austria stayed in sixteenth place in the UEFA association coefficient rankings at the end of the 2015–16 season, the league gained its first spot for the UEFA Champions League for the 2016-2017 season. The Austrian Bundesliga, which began in the 1974–75 season, has been a separate registered association since 1 December 1991. It has been won the most by the two Viennese giants Austria Wien, who were national champions 24 times, and Rapid Wien, who won the national title 32 times. FC Linz was an Austrian football club, based in Linz, Upper Austria. History SK VÖEST Linz It was founded on 30 June 1946 as ''SV Eisen und Stahl 1946 Linz'', a factory squad of the public ''VÖEST'' steel company (present-day Voestalpine). In 1949, the team was renamed ''SK VÖEST Linz''. In 1969, ''SK VÖEST'' won the championship of the Regional League Central and was promoted to the ''Nationalliga'', the predecessor of the Bundesliga. The club reached its peak in the 1973–74 season, when they became Austrian champion. Its decline began in 1988, when ''SK VOEST'' (without umlaut since 1978) was relegated to the First League (II). SK Vorwärts Steyr
SK Vorwärts Steyr is an Austrian association football club based in Steyr. It was founded in 1919. They play at the Vorwärts Stadium. Currently the club has about 300 members. Is one of the oldest football clubs in Upper Austria. In 1999 the club went bankrupt and reformed in lower leagues later in 2001. In 2011 Vorwärts was promoted to the Regional League (Middle) which is part of the third division of Austrian league football. In 2018 they were promoted to the Austrian Second League. SV Spittal An Der Drau
Sportverein Spittal/Drau is an Austrian association football club, based in Spittal an der Drau, Carinthia. The club founded in 1921 was promoted to the First League (II) in 1982 and won the championship of the 1983–84 season, however playing in the Bundesliga only until its immediate relegation in 1985. The Wiener Sport-Club, sometimes abbreviated as WSC, was established in 1883 in Vienna, Austria and is one of the country's oldest athletics clubs. Their traditional home is in the Dornbach quarter of the city ( 17th district). History At various times throughout its history the club has had departments for fencing, boxing, wrestling, cycling, handball, track and field, field hockey, tennis, squash, football and water polo. The football team enjoyed success in Austria National Championship in 1922, 1958 and 1959. Their 1958 season included an impressive 7–0 victory over Juventus in European Champions Cup. Two bankruptcies in the 1990s eventually led the team to slip into the lower leagues. First Vienna FC is an Austrian association football club based in the Döbling district of Vienna. Established on 22 August 1894, it is the country's oldest team and has played a notable role in the history of the game there. DSV Leoben is an Austrian association football club based in Leoben. It was founded in 1928. They play at the Donawitz Stadium. History WSV Donawitz The club was founded on 1 February 1928 opgericht as ''Werkssportverein Donawitz'', playing in green-white colours. They played their first season at the top Styrian league in 1930/31, playing against the likes of SK Sturm Graz, Grazer AK, Grazer SC and Kapfenberger SC. WSV clinched the title in 1939 but subsequently lost the playoffs for promotion to the Gauliga Ost after losing to FC Wien, Linzer ASK and WSV BU Neunkirchen. That same year, Donawitz town became part of Leoben but WSV kept its name. Linzer Athletik-Sport-Klub, commonly known as Linzer ASK () or simply LASK, is an Austrian professional football club, from the Upper-Austrian state capital Linz. FC Kärnten was an Austrian association football club based in Klagenfurt, Carinthia. It was founded in 1920 under the name of KSK Klagenfurt. History Austria Klagenfurt Austria Klagenfurt played successfully in the ''Kärntner Liga'' and in 1960 were promoted to the Austrian Regional League Central where they won the 1961–62 championship.
