The 1984 Copa Polla Gol was the 14th edition of the Chilean Cup tournament. The competition started on May 13, 1984, and concluded on July 25, 1984. Only first level teams took part in the tournament. Everton won the competition for their first time, beating Universidad Católica 3–0 in the final. Copa Chile
The Copa Chile (''Chile Cup'') is an annual cup competition for Chilean football teams. Due to time constraints and club pressure, the trophy was cancelled in 2000, but returned in 2008. Its precursor was the Campeonato de Apertura (''Opening Championship''), played from 1933 to 1950. The cup is now open to every member club of the Chilean football league system, from professional teams; ( Primera División, Primera B & Segunda División), down to teams from the ANFA: Tercera División. Since the season 2009, the winners obtained a direct Copa Sudamericana spot for the next season, however this was change starting from the 2015 edition; since then the winners obtains a direct Copa Libertadores spot for the next season. Santiago Wanderers
Club de Deportes Santiago Wanderers is a football club based in Valparaíso, a founding member of the Chilean Football Federation. Their home ground, Estadio Elías Figueroa Brander, is in the north-west of the city. Wanderers have played their games there since 1931 after moving from Barrio Puerto. Founded on 15 August 1892, it's the country's oldest club and the oldest football team in Latin America as well. There are four clubs older than Wanderers in Peru and Argentina, but none of those started out as football clubs and all of their football branches started after 1892. Temuco
Temuco () is a city and commune, capital of the Cautín Province and of the Araucanía Region in southern Chile. The city is located south of Santiago. The city grew out from a fort of the same name established in 1881 during Chile's invasion of Araucanía. Temuco lies in the middle of the historic Araucanía, a traditional land of the indigenous Mapuche. Estadio Municipal Germán Becker
The Estadio Municipal Bicentenario Germán Becker Baechler is a stadium located in Temuco, Chile and owned by the Temuco municipality. It is the home ground of Deportes Temuco and also, the former ground of the defunct Unión Temuco football clubs. It was designed by Enrique Esteve and inaugurated on August 13, 1965. Its dimensions are: 105 x 68 m. It has a capacity of 18,413. It was originally built for the inmates at the Temuco prison. The highest ever recorded attendance was on December 3, 1972 when 32,551 spectators saw the Primera Division match between Green Cross Temuco and Colo-Colo. In 2007 the stadium was selected as a venue for the 2008 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup, and to comply with FIFA standards, its facilities were improved, its capacity was decreased from 20,930 to 18,936; and all seats were covered by a roof (from about 80% previously). Deportes Temuco
Deportes Temuco is a Chilean football club based in Temuco, Araucanía Region. It currently plays in the Chilean Primera División B, holding home games at the new '' Estadio Municipal Germán Becker''. The club was founded on February 22, 1960, as ''Deportes Temuco'' and again on March 20, 1965, after a merger with Green Cross. Until 1984, the club was known as ''Green Cross – Temuco'', and, in 2007, changed its name to ''Deportivo Temuco'', only on that season. In 2013, the club merged with Unión Temuco, but the name of Deportes Temuco was kept, along with the logo and traditional white and green colors, making it seem as Deportes Temuco absorbing Unión rather than a fusion. Club Deportivo Huachipato is a Chilean football club based in Talcahuano that is a current member of the Chilean Primera División. The club was founded 7 June 1947 and plays its home games at the Estadio CAP, which has a capacity of 10,500 people (all-seated). History In 1947, CD Huachipato was officially notarized, and the first official recorded game was played. The original fans were the local company employees of the steel industry in Huachipato. Naval de Talcahuano, were a Chilean football club based in the city of Talcahuano, Biobío Region. The club founded in 1944 as ''Asociación Naval de Foot-Ball'', was property of the Armada de Chile and played only at amateur level for 24 years, until 1968 when it began to play at professional level in the second tier of Chilean football. Since then, the club played 6 seasons at the Second level, and 17 at the highest level of Chilean football, the Primera División. Club Social de Deportes Rangers is a Chilean football club based in the city of Talca. The club was founded November 2, 1902 and plays in the second level of the Chilean football system.
