Leon Heywood
Leon Heywood (26 May 1952 – 2014) was an Australian professional snooker player. Career Heywood grew up in Adelaide, and was runner-up to Ron Atkins in the Australian National Snooker Championships in 1976. Both players represented Australia at the 1976 IBSF World Snooker Championship, where Heywood won only one of his seven group matches. In a 1979 match against Graham Miles, Heywood became the first Australian amateur player to make a maximum break. Heywood was accepted as a professional by the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association (WPBSA) in 1983. He played ten matches as a professional, but did not win any of them. John Campbell (snooker Player)
John Campbell (born 10 April 1953) is a former Australian professional snooker player. During a career which lasted from 1982 to 1993, he was a quarter-finalist in the 1983 Professional Players Tournament, and won the Australian Professional Championship in 1985 and 1988. Career Campbell was born on 10 April 1953 in Brisbane, and turned professional as a snooker player in 1982. Playing in only one tournament during the 1982/1983 season - the 1983 World Championship, he defeated Mike Watterson 10–6 in the first qualifying round and Jim Donnelly 10–2 in the second, to reach the main stages at the Crucible Theatre. There, he was drawn against former World Champion Cliff Thorburn but lost 5–10. Beginning the 1983–84 snooker season with a world ranking of 39th, Campbell played in five events. Paddy Morgan
Paddy Morgan (born 7 January 1943) is an Australian former professional snooker and English billiards player. He was born in Belfast, and moved to Coventry in 1960. Following an amateur career in which he won junior and national titles in both sports, and reached the semi-finals of the 1968 World Amateur Snooker Championship, he emigrated to Australia in 1969. He became a professional player in 1970 and competed in the World Snooker Championship for the first time in the 1971 tournament. In 1972, he was runner-up to Leslie Driffield in the World Open Billiards Championship, which featured both amateurs and professionals competing against each other, losing the final 2,404–3,055. In snooker, he defeated Dennis Taylor and Alex Higgins to reach the semi-finals of the 1976 World Professional Match-play Championship. James Giannaros
James Giannaros (born 25 July 1952) is an Australian former professional snooker player. Career Giannaros played at the 1980 IBSF World Snooker Championship, winning all six of his group matches, before being eliminated 3-5 by Ron Atkins in the quarter-finals. At the 1982 tournament, he won five of his eight group matches, which was not enough to progress. He was the Australian Amateur Snooker champion in 1982. He was accepted as a professional by the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association (WPBSA) in 1983. His only professional match in the 1983–84 snooker season was in the qualifying competition for the 1984 World Snooker Championship, where he lost 1–10 to Les Dodd. The following season, he defeated Tony Chappel 5–2 at the 1985 Classic but lost 3–5 in the next qualifying round to Marcel Gauvreau; and recorded a 6–1 win over Colin Roscoe at the 1985 British Open before losing 3–6 to Dean Reynolds in the second qualifying round. Ian Anderson (snooker Player)
Ian Anderson (born 2 April 1946) is an Australian former professional snooker player. He is the current president of the World Pool-Billiard Association. Career Anderson turned professional in 1973, playing his first World Championship match against Perrie Mans of South Africa in 1974; Anderson held Mans to 1–1, but Mans pulled away to win 8–1. The following year, he was eliminated 4–15 in the last 16 by Rex Williams, and in 1976, he lost 5–8 to Jackie Rea. In the 1979 tournament, Anderson was defeated in qualifying by Steve Davis, by 9 frames to 1, but in the 1982 Australian Masters, the group stage being in one-frame shoot-out format, he defeated Ray Reardon 70–48 and incumbent World Champion Alex Higgins 70–50 before losing 115–119 over two frames to Davis in the semi-final. James E. Charlton (July 26, 1911 – September 20, 2013) was a Canadian coin dealer and numismatic publisher. The World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association (WPBSA) is the governing body of professional snooker and English billiards based in Bristol, England. Robby Foldvari (born 2 June 1960) is an Australian player of snooker, English billiards and pool. He is a multi-year World Billiards Champion (1986, 1997, 1998), and a national-level champion in both snooker (2006, 2008) and nine-ball pool (2012), as well as a World Games competitor (2013).
