The 1983 Swedish speedway season was the 1983 season of motorcycle speedway in Sweden. Individual Individual Championship The 1983 Swedish Individual Speedway Championship final was held on 10 September in Mariestad. Tommy Nilsson won the Swedish Championship. Swedish U21 Championship Winner - Ove Osterberg Team Team Championship Njudungarna won the Elitserien and were declared the winners of the Swedish Speedway Team Championship for the third time. The Njudungarna team included Göran Waltersson, Uno Johansson, Conny Samuelsson and Alf Trofast. Gamarna and Vargarna won the first division north and south respectively, while Eldarna and Filbyterna won the second division north and south respectively. The 1982 Swedish speedway season was the 1982 season of motorcycle speedway in Sweden. Individual Individual Championship The 1982 Swedish Individual Speedway Championship final was held on 10 September in Eskilstuna. Anders Michanek won the Swedish Championship for the fifth time. Junior Championship Winner - Magnus Johnson Team Team Championship A major change took place for the 1982 season. A new elite division was introduced called the Elitserien. In addition there would be five divisions consisting of two regional leagues in both the first and second divisions. Getingarna won the Elitserien and were declared the winners of the Swedish Speedway Team Championship for the 12th time. The Getingarna team included Anders Michanek, Tommy Nilsson, Richard Hellsén and Per Jonsson. Vetlanda Speedway were a motorcycle speedway team based in Vetlanda, Sweden. Earlier known as Njudungarna and VMS Elit, the club was formed in 1946, and arranged their first meeting three years later. In 2003 when the club was promoted to the top division of Swedish speedway league, the Elitserien Elitserien (literally, "the Elite League") is the name of several Swedish nationwide sport leagues. Vargarna
Vargarna are a Swedish motorcycle speedway team based in Norrköping, Sweden. The team race at the Norrköpings Motorstadion. History The name Vargarna literally translates into English as "The Wolves". The team won the Swedish Speedway Team Championship five times 1949, 1951, 1953, 1954, 1960 and 1961. In recent years the club has moved up and down leagues from the Elitserien to the second tier of Swedish speedway, the Allsvenskan (National League). During the 2022 Swedish Speedway season the club reached the Allsvenskan play off final. Perhaps the club's most notable rider in recent years was the former world champion Nicki Pedersen, who signed for the team in 2010. Elitserien (literally, "The Elite Series") ( sv, Elitserien i speedway) is the highest league in the league system of speedway in Sweden and currently comprises the top 7 Swedish speedway teams. The first season began in 1982. The Swedish Speedway Team Championship is the team championship of speedway in Sweden. Season by season History The Championship was introduced in 1950. In 1982 the Championship was renamed with a new league called the Elitserien being introduced. previously the highest league had been known as the Allsvenskan but since 1982 it has been the second tier of Swedish speedway. Between 1986 and 1999 the team that finished top of the league were declared champions because there was no play off.
