The 1983 Pau Grand Prix was a Formula Two motor race held on 22 May 1983 at the Pau circuit, in Pau, Pyrénées-Atlantiques, France. Pau Grand Prix
The Pau Grand Prix (french: Grand Prix de Pau) is a motor race held in Pau, in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department of southwestern France. The French Grand Prix was held at Pau in 1930, leading to the annual Pau Grand Prix being inaugurated in 1933. It was not run during World War II and in 2020–2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The race takes place around the centre of the city, where public roads are closed to form a street circuit, and over the years the event has variously conformed to the rules of Grand Prix racing, Formula One, Formula Two, Formula 3000, Formula Three, Formula Libre, sports car racing, and touring car racing. In 2021, '' Autocar'' included the Pau Grand Prix in its list of "The 10 best street circuits in the world". Rolf Biland
Rolf Biland (born 1 April 1951) is a Swiss former sidecar racer. He is known not only for his seven FIM Sidecar World Championships and 80 Grand Prix wins, but for his experimentation and innovation with new types of machine, like the Seymaz, the BEO and the LCR. His success was not limited to Grand Prix tracks, as he finished second at the Isle of Man Sidecar TT at his first attempt. Biland was instrumental in the development of the Swissauto V4 engine and won his last world title using it. Biland retired from sidecar competition and became team manager for the Muz 500 team in 1999, renaming it Team Biland GP1. Lamberto Leoni (born 24 May 1953 in Argenta) is a former racing driver from Italy. He participated in five Formula One World Championship Grands Prix, failing to qualify for three of them. He scored no championship points. Career After racing in Italian Formula 3 and Formula 2 with mixed results, Leoni moved into Formula One with a hired Surtees TS19 at the 1977 Italian Grand Prix, but failed to qualify. Lola Cars International Ltd. was a British race car engineering company in operation from 1958 to 2012. Guido Daccò
Guido Daccò (10 September 1947 – 29 July 2006) was an Italian race car and motorcycle racer from Limbiate. He began motorcycle racing in 1969 and from 1980 to 1984 he raced in Formula 2. He then drove in the 1985 24 Hours of Le Mans and began racing in Formula 3000. In 1988 he moved to the United States to drive in the Indy Lights series where he placed 10th in series points. In 1989 he made his CART debut for Dale Coyne Racing. Dacco had little success in CART and bounced from team to team until 1992, making 23 starts with a best finish of 12th. He failed to qualify for the Indianapolis 500 in his attempts in 1990 and 1991. He returned to Europe in 1992 to drive two races in German Formula 3 and then retired from racing. Automobiles Martini is a constructor of Formula racing cars from France, founded by Renato "Tico" Martini in 1965, when Martini and partner Bill Knight founded the Winfield Racing School at the Magny-Cours circuit, in France. Martini's first car was the MW3, a Formula Three car built in 1968. Philippe Alliot (born 27 July 1954) is a former racing driver who participated in Formula One from to and from to . He raced for RAM, Ligier, Larrousse and McLaren. Early career Prior to his career in Formula One he competed during 1976 and 1977 in Formule Renault, and won the championship in 1978, in the BP Racing team. With said team he also won the French Formula Renault championship and went on to French Formula Three. He finished third in his first race and moved to the European Formula 3 Championship in 1980. Philippe Streiff (26 June 1955 – 23 December 2022) was a French racing driver. He participated in 55 Formula One Grands Prix, debuting on 21 October 1984. Tomas Kaiser (born 2 December 1956) is a Swedish former racing driver from Saelen. Kaiser began his career racing Formula Fords. In 1979 he raced in the European Formula Three Championship and British Formula Three Championship. In 1980 he finished fourth in the Swedish Formula Three Championship and competed in 1 race each in the British, European, and German F3 series.
