1982–83 Taça De Portugal
The 1982–83 Taça de Portugal was the 43rd edition of the Taça de Portugal, a Portuguese football knockout tournament organized by the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF). The 1982-83 Taça de Portugal began in September 1982. The final was played on 21 August 1983 at the Estádio Nacional. Sporting CP were the previous holders, having defeated Braga 4–0 in the previous season's final. Cup holders Sporting CP were eliminated in the quarter finals by Benfica. Fernando Gomes (Portuguese Footballer)
Fernando Mendes Soares Gomes (22 November 1956 – 26 November 2022) was a Portuguese professional footballer who played as a striker. He achieved great success with Porto, during the late 1970s and 1980s. In the Primeira Liga he represented Sporting CP as well, and also spent two years in Spain with Sporting de Gijón. The recipient of nearly 50 caps for Portugal, Gomes represented the nation in one World Cup and one European Championship. Michael Anthony Walsh (born 13 August 1954) is a former professional footballer who works as a football agent. A striker, he spent his club career in England and Portugal. Born in England, he represented the Republic of Ireland national team at international level. Eurico Gomes
Eurico Monteiro Gomes (born 29 September 1955), known simply as Eurico in his playing days, is a Portuguese former professional footballer who played as a central defender, and is a manager. He started out at Benfica and later played for Sporting and Porto, becoming the second player to have represented the Big Three in his country and the only to have been champion in all three clubs (twice with each). Estádio Municipal de Portimão is the current stadium of Portimonense S.C. It is located in the centre of Portimão in the Algarve, Portugal and was opened in 1937 for local football club Portimonense S.C. Its capacity is 9,544 people.
