1982 Cork Senior Hurling Championship
The 1982 Cork Senior Hurling Championship was the 94th staging of the Cork Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Cork County Board in 1887. The draw for the opening round fixtures took place at the Cork Convention on 31 January 1982. The championship began on 1 May 1982 and ended on 10 October 1982. St. Finbarr's entered the championship as the defending champions. The final was played on 10 October 1982 at Páirc Uà Chaoimh in Cork, between St. Finbarr's and Blackrock, in what was their first meeting in the final in three years. St. Finbarr's won the match by 2–17 to 3–09 to claim their 22nd championship title overall and a third successive title. Midleton's John Fenton was the championship's top scorer with 2-24. Youghal GAA
Youghal GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the town of Youghal, in County Cork, Republic of Ireland, Ireland. The club fields both Hurling and Gaelic football teams and also has junior camogie and ladies football teams. The club is a member of Cork GAA and Imokilly GAA, Imokilly divisional board. History In 1891 the men of Youghal formed the Youghal GAA Football club (Cumann Luthcleas Gael Eochaill). Spearheaded by W.J. Broderick, John Collins, William Farrell, and Michael Browne as first Secretary, the foundation was laid. Organised Gaelic Football was played in Bill Farrell's Field at Frogmore. The club then transferred to Jimmy Lynch's field up towards the Asylum Cross in 1984, and to Copperalley in 1899. Na Piarsaigh GAA
Na Piarsaigh are a hurling and Gaelic football club based in the north side of Cork City, Ireland. History Formation In 1943 a group of idealistic young men drawn mostly from the hurling nursery of North Mon laid the foundations of Cumann Iomana & Peile Na Piarsaigh. The group had its first formal meeting in the presbytery of the North Cathedral. The young men called upon one of their teachers, Donnacha Ó Murchú, for guidance and assistance. This led to him becoming the first ''Uachtarán'' [president] of the club, with Derry Terry serving as ''RunaÃ'' [secretary] and Paddy Sutton as ''Cisteoir'' [treasurer]. In choosing a name for the club the members sought one which would reflect their aims and ideals. Kildorrery () is a village in north County Cork, Ireland. It lies at the crossroads of the N73 road from Mallow to Mitchelstown and the R512 from Kilmallock to Fermoy. Bandon, County Cork
Bandon (; ) is a town in County Cork, Ireland. It lies on the River Bandon between two hills. The name in Irish means 'Bridge of the Bandon', a reference to the origin of the town as a crossing point on the river. In 2004 Bandon celebrated its quatercentenary. The town, sometimes called the Gateway to West Cork, had a population of 6,957 at the 2016 census. Bandon is in the Cork South-West ( Dáil Éireann) constituency, which has three seats. Bandon GAA is a Gaelic football and Hurling club based in Bandon in County Cork, Republic of Ireland. The club is affiliated with Carbery division of Cork. In 2007, Bandon won the West Cork Junior A Football Championship, beating Muintir Bhaire in the final. The club's hurling team meanwhile were runners-up in the Cork Intermediate Hurling Championship. Carrigdhoun GAA
Carrigdhoun GAA is one of the eight baronies or Gaelic Athletic Association divisions that make up Cork. The division is made up of eleven Gaelic Athletic Association teams, making it one of the smaller divisions. The division is also known as the South East division. It extends from just south of Cork city down to Ballinspittle in the south of the county. Éire Óg is a Gaelic football and hurling club based in Ovens, County Cork, Ireland. The club is affiliated with Cork GAA county board and the Muskerry divisional board. History Éire Óg Hurling and Football club (''Cumann IománaÃochta agus Peile Éire Óg'') is located in the parish of Ovens/Farran approximately 16 km west of Cork city, just off the main Cork-Killarney road.
