1977 Copa Interamericana
The 1977 Copa Interamericana was a two-legged football match contested between 1977 Copa Libertadores champion Boca Juniors and 1977 CONCACAF Champions' Cup champion Club América. It was the 6th edition of the competition. Organized by the Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) and Confederación Sudamericana de Fútbol (CONMEBOL), the 1977 edition was played between March and April 1978. In the first leg, held in La Bombonera in Buenos Aires, Boca Juniors won 3–0. In the second leg, held in Estadio Azteca in Mexico City, América beat Boca Juniors 1–0. Despite Boca Juniors had a goal difference of 3–1, it was not taken into account and a playoff match had to be played. Agreed by both clubs, it was held in Estadio Azteca again, where América beat Boca Juniors 2–1 to win the series 4–2 on points, achieving their first Copa Interamericana title. Ernesto Mastrángelo
Ernesto Enrique Mastrángelo (born 5 July 1948 in Rufino) is an Argentine former football striker who played for both River Plate and Boca Juniors in Argentina. He also played international football for the Argentina national team Mastrángelo (nicknamed Héber) started his career in 1968 with Atlanta. In 1972, he joined River Plate but he never won any titles during his time with the club. He joined Unión de Santa Fe in 1975, but in early 1976 he was signed by River Plate's eternal rivals Boca Juniors. During his time with Boca, Mastrángelo scored 56 goals in 134 games in all competitions. Antonio De La Torre (soccer)
Antonio de la Torre García (born November 18, 1977,) is a Mexican-American former soccer defender, who recently played for the Atlanta Silverbacks of the USL First Division. De la Torre holds dual citizenship in Mexico and the United States. Before joining MLS, de la Torre played most of his career in Mexico's Primera A, the second division. He played for Atlante F.C. in the Primera Division. He joined MLS for the 2004 season, signing with the Colorado Rapids, and immediately impressed with his offensive abilities. Unlike most American defenders, de la Torre was a danger going forward from his right back position, and finished the season with five assists in 28 starts. Alfredo Tena Garduño (born 21 November 1956), also known by his nickname ''Capitán Furia'' ("Captain Fury"), is a Mexican former professional footballer and the current youth academy director for Club América. Juan Carlos Lorenzo
Juan Carlos "Toto" Lorenzo (; 27 October 1922 – 14 November 2001) was an Argentine football player and coach. He became an icon for Boca Juniors fans after he coached the club to its first two Copa Libertadores titles. Biography In his teens, Lorenzo played for Chacarita Juniors, and made his professional debut in 1940. He was transferred to Boca Juniors in 1945, and after two years he joined Italian side Sampdoria team, where he remained until 1952. His next clubs would be now-defunct French F.C.
