Bill Brask
William Jennings Brask Jr. (born December 12, 1946) is an American professional golfer. Although he did not have much success on the PGA Tour he won a number of minor international tournaments. Due to this success overseas – where they used a smaller golf ball – he was referred to as "the king of the small ball" by Lee Trevino. Early life Brask grew up in San Diego, California. He attended the University of Minnesota for college and played on the golf team. He was an All-American in 1967 and 1968. He won the Big Ten Championship in 1968 and finished third in the 1968 NCAA Championships. Professional career Brask successfully got through PGA Tour Qualifying School and played full-time on tour in 1970. He was paired with Arnold Palmer at the first event of the year, the Los Angeles Open. Despite being "nervous as a cat" he played relatively well, finishing T-24. Brian Jones (golfer)
Brian Jones (born 12 September 1951) is an Australian professional golfer. Golf career Jones was born in Sydney. He turned professional in 1971. He played on the throughout Asia and Australasia including on the Japan Golf Tour. He won the Indian Open two times, five times in Australasia, and twelve times in Japan. He won 11 events on the Japan Golf Tour between 1977 and 1993. Jones played in multiple Open Championships; his best performance coming at the 1981 Open Championship, where he finished in a tie for 8th place. Jones played on the European Seniors Tour from 2002 to 2005, winning the 2002 De Vere Hotels Seniors Classic. Personal life Jones married Sachiko, a Japanese woman, in the early 1980s. The New Zealand PGA Championship is a golf tournament on the PGA Tour of Australasia. It is currently known for sponsorship reasons as the SEC NZ PGA Championship. History The tournament been played since 1909, with some gap periods. It was originally a match play event and switched to stroke play in 1965. Major championship winners who have claimed the New Zealand PGA title include Sir Bob Charles, Peter Thomson, Kel Nagle, and Tony Jacklin. Hal Underwood
Hal Mac Underwood (born November 9, 1945) is an American professional golfer. Underwood played college golf at the University of Houston. He played on two NCAA Championship teams (1966 and 1967), was an All-American in 1966 and 1967, and won several college tournaments. Underwood never won on the PGA Tour but finished runner-up to Gary Player in the 1971 Greater Jacksonville Open. He had a little more success internationally, winning the 1975 Portuguese Open on the European Tour and the two events on the Australian/New Zealand circuit. He also recorded a runner-up at the 1977 Malaysian Dunlop Masters. Underwood was inducted into the Texas Golf Hall of Fame in 1991. John Malcolm Lister (born 9 March 1947) is a professional golfer from New Zealand. Golf career Lister was one of the leading players on the Australia and New Zealand circuits during the 1970s. Between 1972 and 1977, he was the leading player on the New Zealand Tour winning ten of twenty-five events. He won the Garden City Classic four consecutive times (1972–1975). His four consecutive wins in a professional tour event is a record that he shares with Tiger Woods, who won the Bay Hill Invitational from 2000–2003. Lister also enjoyed success around the world. In 1970, he won twice on the British PGA circuit and finished the season in fourth place on the Order of Merit. At the end of the year he qualified for the PGA Tour. New Zealand Open
The New Zealand Open is the premier men's golf tournament in New Zealand. It has been a regular fixture on the PGA Tour of Australasia tournament schedule since the 1970s. The 2019 event was the 100th edition of the tournament. Since 2014 it has been held as a pro-am in February or March. Prize money for the 2020 event was NZ$1.4 million, with an additional NZ$50,000 for the pro-am; the tournament winner received NZ$252,000.
