1975 IAAF World Race Walking Cup
The 1975 IAAF World Race Walking Cup was held in Le Grand-Quevilly, France, on October 11–12, 1975. The event was also known as Lugano Trophy. For the first time, there was a women's 5 km race held as invitation event. Complete results were published. Medallists †: Invitation event. World Athletics, formerly known as the International Amateur Athletic Federation (from 1912 to 2001) and International Association of Athletics Federations (from 2001 to 2019, both abbreviated as the IAAF) is the international governing body for the sport of athletics, covering track and field, cross country running, road running, race walking, mountain running, and ultra running. Vittorio Visini
Vittorio Visini (born 25 May 1945) is a retired Italian race walker. He competed in the 20 km and 50 km events at the 1968, 1972 and 1976 Olympics and finished in 6–8th place.Vittorio Visini

Biography

From 1965 to 1982 Visini took part in 67 international competitions. He won 16 national titles: in the 20 km (1970), 50 km (1970–1975 and 1981), and 5 km indoor (1970–1976 and 1978). In retirement he worked as a racewalking coach.

Hartwig Gauder
Hartwig Gauder (10 November 1954 – 22 April 2020) was a German race walker who won a gold medal in the Men's 50 kilometres walk at the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow. Born in West Germany, his family moved to East Germany in 1960 when they inherited property at Ilmenau. Gauder thus competed for East Germany. In 1996 Gauder started suffering from a virus infection of his heart. After living with an artificial heart for several months, he received a heart transplant. He subsequently took part in the New York Marathon several times. Being classified as a disabled participant due to his transplant, he was once disqualified for being too fast as there was a minimum time, which he underran. His recovery from almost dying to returning into a normal life was covered in a documentary shown on German documentary channel Phoenix. Hans-Georg Reimann
Hans-Georg Reimann (born 24 August 1941 in Starrischken, Municipality Heydekrug) is a former East German race walker, who started for the SC Dynamo Berlin and the GDR and won two Olympic medals in 20 km racewalking. He finished third at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich in (1:27:17 hours) and finished second at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montréal in (1:25:14 hours). He won the silver medal (1:36:14.2 hours) at the 1962 European Championships. He - synchronously with Peter Frenkel - went a world record (1:25:19.4 hours). Mikhail Vasilyevich Alekseyev (russian: Михаил Васильевич Алексеев) ( – ) was an Imperial Russian Army general during World War I and the Russian Civil War. Between 1915 and 1917 he served as Tsar Nicholas II's Chief of Staff of the Stavka, and after the February Revolution, was its commander-in-chief under the Russian Provisional Government from March to May 1917.
