1974–75 Santosh Trophy
The 1974–75 Santosh Trophy was the 31st edition of the Santosh Trophy, the main State competition for football in India. It was held in Jalandhar, Punjab. Punjab won the title for the second time, beating Bengal 6–0 in the most one-sided Santosh Trophy final. Inder Singh, the captain of Punjab, scored 23 goals, the record for a single tournament. Surajit Sengupta and Mohammad Akbar of Bengal scored eleven goals each. Punjab's previous title had also come at Jalandhar in the 1970-71 tournament. Preliminary round Cluster A Punjab's seventeen goals against Gujarat is the second most scored in a Santosh Trophy match, after Bengal's 18–0 against Tripura in this season. Delhi Football Team
The Delhi football team is an Indian football team representing Delhi in Indian state football competitions including the Santosh Trophy. Selection is mostly done through Delhi Football League system. They have appeared in the Santosh Trophy finals twice, and have won the trophy only once, in 1944-45. Subhash Bhowmick
Subhash Bhowmick (2 October 1950 – 22 January 2022) was an Indian football player and manager. During his playing career, he represented the "Big Two" of Kolkata football, East Bengal and Mohun Bagan. He also represented India in various international tournaments between 1970 and 1985. He was popularly known as ''Bhombol'' in the football arena of the West Bengal. Club career Bhowmick joined East Bengal Club in 1969 and, after spending a season there, joined Mohun Bagan in 1970. He was part of the club's Bangladesh tour of May 1972, where they defeated Dhaka Mohammedan, but lost to Shadhin Bangla football team. At the end of the 1973 season, he returned to East Bengal and represented them till 1976, after which he rejoined Mohun Bagan. In East Bengal, he got guidance of legendary coach Sushil Bhattacharya. Gautam Sarkar, also spelt as Goutam Sarkar, and known by the nickname "Indian Beckenbauer" (born 8 January 1950), is a former Indian Bengali international footballer and football coach from West Bengal. He completed his schooling from Baranagore Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama High School. He played for East Bengal Club and captained the team in 1976–77. Brahmanand Sankhwalkar
Brahmanand Sagoon Kamat Sankhwalkar (born 6 March 1954) is a former Indian footballer and a captain of the Indian team from 1983 to 1986, who played as a goalkeeper. Considered one of India's best goalkeepers, he had 25-year playing career. He played for Panvel Sports Club, Salgaocar, Churchill Brothers, Anderson Mariners at the club level, that included 17 years with Salgaocar, and for Goa state team in the Santosh Trophy. Playing for Goa, he led the team to two consecutive wins at the Santosh Trophy; in 1983 and 1984. Having maintained a clean sheet of 576 minutes in the 1984 tournament, he holds the Indian record. Peter Thangaraj
Havildar Peter Thangaraj (24 December 1935 – 24 November 2008) was an Indian football player and a non-commissioned officer in the Indian Army. Thangaraj played for the Indian national side at the 1956 Melbourne and 1960 Rome Olympics. He was voted Asia's best goalkeeper in 1958. Thangaraj was a recipient of Arjuna Award for the year 1967. Thangaraj played domestic club football for both the Calcutta Football League clubs Mohun Bagan and East Bengal.
