Poul Petersen (badminton)
Poul Petersen is a Danish former badminton player. He was a Danish National Championship three times in the doubles with Per Walsøe and Svend Pri. In addition he won the Nordic Championship in 1972 and was capped by Denmark in the early 1970s. England National Badminton Team
The England national badminton team represents England in international badminton team competitions and is controlled by ''Badminton England'', the governing body for badminton in England. The English team is ranked 13 on the world ranking and has had many appearances in international team events. England were runners-up at the 1963 and the 1984 Uber Cup. They've also been semifinalists 4 times at the Uber Cup. The men's team had two semifinal finishes at the 1982 and 1984 edition of the Thomas Cup. England only finished in the final four once in the Sudirman Cup which was in 2007. Wolfgang Bochow
Wolfgang Bochow (26 May 1944 – 14 September 2017) was a badminton player from West Germany who rated among the world's best in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Tall and powerful, he had one of the strongest backhands in the game. Career Bochow won the gold medal at the 1972 European Badminton Championships in men's singles. Between 1968 and 1976 he won eight other medals at this biennial event; three bronzes and a silver in mixed doubles, a silver and two bronzes in singles, and a bronze in men's doubles. Elliot Clarke Stuart (born 1946) is a former English international badminton player. Badminton career Stuart was a winner of the All England Open Badminton Championships. He won the 1975 All England Badminton Championships mixed doubles with Nora Gardner. Marjan Ridder (born Marjan Luesken 3 May 1953, in Haarlem) is a retired badminton player of the Netherlands. Career Ridder won 17 Dutch titles. Internationally she was most successful in women's doubles, usually partnered with Joke van Beusekom, winning at the (first) European Youth Championships in 1969, the Denmark Open in 1972 and 1975, the Irish International in 1975, and the Dutch Open in 1977. Ulla Strand
Ulla Strand (21 March 1943 - 7 August 2007) (born as Ulla Rasmussen) was badminton player of Denmark who excelled from the early 1960s to the early 1970s. Though she won three Danish national singles titles and reached the women's singles final at the All-England Championships in 1965, most of her major championship victories were in doubles (often with her sister Karin Jorgensen) and mixed doubles. Attractive and charismatic, she was a crowd favorite throughout her career. She was included in the Badminton Hall of Fame in 1999. Ulla Strand died in 2007 after a long illness. Susan Whetnall (born 11 December 1942 in Swanley, née Susan Pound) is a former English badminton player, noted for her anticipation and shot-making ability, who won numerous international titles in doubles and mixed doubles from the mid-1960s through the mid-1970s. She was married to another English former international player, Paul Whetnall, from 1968 until his death in May 2014.
