The 1974 EuroHockey Club Champions Cup, taking place in Utrecht (city), Utrecht, was the inaugural official edition of Europe's premier field hockey club competition. Field Hockey
Field hockey is a team sport structured in standard hockey format, in which each team plays with ten outfield players and a goalkeeper. Teams must drive a round hockey ball by hitting it with a hockey stick towards the rival team's shooting circle and then into the goal. The match is won by the team that scores the most goals. Matches are played on grass, watered turf, artificial turf, synthetic field, or indoor boarded surface. The stick is made of wood, carbon fibre, fibreglass, or a combination of carbon fibre and fibreglass in different quantities. The stick has two sides; one rounded and one flat; only the flat face of the stick is allowed to progress the ball. During play, goalkeepers are the only players allowed to touch the ball with any part of their body. A player's hand is considered part of the stick if holding the stick. The Sport-Club Frankfurt 1880 e.V. (or SC 1880 Frankfurt) is a German sports club from Frankfurt am Main. The club is mainly known for its rugby union team, which currently plays in the Rugby-Bundesliga, the highest level of the league system for rugby union in Germany. Apart from rugby, the club hosts other sports such as athletics, curling, field hockey, lacrosse, and tennis. The club was, for a time, one of only two professional rugby clubs in Germany, the other being Heidelberger RK. Kampong (field Hockey Club)
Sportvereniging Kampong Hockey (; ), also known as SV Kampong or simply Kampong, is a Dutch field hockey club based in Utrecht. It was founded in 1902, making it the second oldest hockey club in the Netherlands. Both the men's and the women's 1st XI compete in the Hoofdklasse, country's top-tier league. The men's team won the league in 2017, after 32 years without a national title, after a clash with Rotterdam. They have also competed in the Euro Hockey League. Etymology The term 'Kampong' is Javanese in origin. Having hundreds years of relationship with Java island (especially during the Dutch colonialism on Indonesia), Javanese language influenced some vocabulary in Dutch language. Pembroke Wanderers Hockey Club (''Club Haca Pheambróg'' in Irish) is a field hockey club based in the Sandymount/Ballsbridge area of Dublin 4, Ireland.
