1974 Copa Chile
The Copa Chile 1974 was the 6th edition of the Chilean Cup tournament. The competition started on April 6, 1974 and concluded on August 25, 1974. Colo-Colo won the competition for the second time, beating Santiago Wanderers 3-0 on the final. The points system in the group round awarded 2 points for a win. In the event of a tie, 1 point was awarded to the winner and no points for the loser of a penalty shoot-out. Copa Chile
The Copa Chile (''Chile Cup'') is an annual cup competition for Chilean football teams. Due to time constraints and club pressure, the trophy was cancelled in 2000, but returned in 2008. Its precursor was the Campeonato de Apertura (''Opening Championship''), played from 1933 to 1950. The cup is now open to every member club of the Chilean football league system, from professional teams; ( Primera División, Primera B & Segunda División), down to teams from the ANFA: Tercera División. Since the season 2009, the winners obtained a direct Copa Sudamericana spot for the next season, however this was change starting from the 2015 edition; since then the winners obtains a direct Copa Libertadores spot for the next season. In the history of the tournament, the Primera División teams have dominated the competition; but, because this is contested in a knockout tournament format, the opportunity for lower-level teams upsetting a top level squad is a real possibility. Club Unión Española S.A.D.P. is a professional football club based in the Independencia neighborhood, commune of Santiago, Chile. They currently participate in the Primera División de Chile. It has a branch of women's football, and competes in national tournaments with its lower categories. Naval De Talcahuano
Naval de Talcahuano, were a Chilean football club based in the city of Talcahuano, BiobÃo Region. The club founded in 1944 as ''Asociación Naval de Foot-Ball'', was property of the Armada de Chile and played only at amateur level for 24 years, until 1968 when it began to play at professional level in the second tier of Chilean football. Since then, the club played 6 seasons at the Second level, and 17 at the highest level of Chilean football, the Primera División. Ñublense
Club Deportivo Ñublense () is a professional football team based in Chillán, Ñuble Region, Chile. The club was formed in 1916 under the name of Liceo Fútbol Club. They compete in Chile's Primera División league. History Amateur era Ñublense was formed in 1916 by a group of teenagers (led by Chillán teacher Manuel Lara Gutiérrez) who founded a sports club as a haven for sports activities in the city. On 20 August of that year, in the boys' high school the club was called the Liceo Fútbol Club. Other sports sponsored included basketball and boxing. Deportes Linares is a Chilean Football club, their home town is Linares in Chile and play in the 3rd tier of Chilean football, the Segunda División. The club was founded on November 19, 1955 as ''Lister Rossel'' (a famous local pediatrician and amateur sportsman). In 1974 the club name was changed to ''Deportes Linares''. Club Social de Deportes Rangers is a Chilean football club based in the city of Talca. The club was founded November 2, 1902 and plays in the second level of the Chilean football system. Their home games are played at the Fiscal stadium, which has a capacity of 16,000 seats. History The name Rangers was chosen by a Scotsman, Juan Greenstret, who was one of the founding fathers of the Club on behalf of Mrs. Amalia Neale de Silva, the first benefactress of the club. The origin of the chosen team colours, red and black, are unknown, though one of the possibilities was that some of the first players were also members of the Second Company of Firemen of Talca, whose shield was red and black. Curicó Unido is a football club based in Curicó, Maule Region, Chile. They currently play in the Primera División, the first level of the Chilean football system. They are currently managed by Damián Muñoz. History Curicó Unido was founded on 26 February 1973, with ''Edmundo Rojas'' as the first President of the club. Club Social y Deportivo San Antonio Unido, usually referred to as SAU is a football club located in the port city of San Antonio, Chile, situated in the ValparaÃso Region. It was founded on July 21, 1961. Its football team currently plays in Segunda División. History The club was created in 1961, in order to bring the enjoyment of football to a growing port city that was experiencing a surge with internal migration.
