The 1971–72 Honduran Liga Nacional season was the 7th edition of the Honduran Liga Nacional. The format of the tournament remained the same as the previous season. Liga Nacional De Fútbol Profesional De Honduras
Liga Betcris de Honduras (''Honduran National Professional Football League'') is the highest division of football in Honduras. The league season is divided into Opening (autumn) and Closing (spring). One team is relegated to the Liga de Ascenso (the team with fewest points in Opening and Closing) and one team is promoted from Liga de Ascenso. The top four clubs participate in play-offs to decide the champion. The winners of the Opening and Closing competitions participate in the CONCACAF Champions League. In 1948 with the birth of the Francisco Morazán Major Football League, the idea to organize football began to take shape. Samuel Boldwin Sentine Baynes ( – 29 December 2014), also known as just Sentini, was a Honduran football goalkeeper. Club career Born in La Ceiba, Sentine was an airplane pilot before turning to football with Atlético Indio. He later moved to Honduran giants Olimpia. Jorge Alberto Solís López (1 January 1935 — 31 May 1997) was a Honduran association football, football Defender (association football), defender.
