Dutch Television
Television in the Netherlands was officially Timeline of the introduction of television in countries, introduced in 1951. Conny Vandenbos
Jacoba Adriana Hollestelle (16 January 1937 – 7 April 2002), known professionally as Conny Vandenbos, was a popular Dutch singer. She had her first radio hit in 1966 and continued to make hit recordings throughout the 1970s. She represented the Netherlands in the Eurovision Song Contest 1965 with the song " 't Is genoeg". Career Vandenbos made her solo debut in the KRO radio programme ''Springplank'', a showcase for young talent, in which she performed French chansons. After her performance at the Belgian ''Knokkefestival'' in 1961, Conny signed a recording contract with Philips. In 1964, she made a television series ''Zeg maar Conny'' ("Call me Conny") for the Dutch public broadcaster NCRV. In 1965, she represented the Netherlands in the Eurovision Song Contest held in Naples, Italy, with the song " 't Is genoeg", finishing in eleventh place. Eurovision Song Contest 1965
The Eurovision Song Contest 1965 was the tenth edition of the annual Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Naples, Italy, following the country's victory at the with the song "Non ho l'età" by Gigliola Cinquetti. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster Radiotelevisione Italiana (RAI), the contest was held at Sala di Concerto della RAI on 20 March 1965, and was hosted by Italian singer Renata Mauro. The Netherlands was represented by Conny Vandenbos, with the song "'t Is genoeg", at the 1965 Eurovision Song Contest, which took place on 20 March in Naples, Italy. Five acts participated in the Dutch preselection, which consisted of five qualifying rounds, followed by the final on 13 February. All the shows were held at the Theater Concordia in Bussum, hosted by the 1959 Eurovision winner Teddy Scholten. Vandenbos had previously taken part in the Dutch preselection of 1962. Future Dutch representative Ronnie Tober (1968) was one of the other participants. Before Eurovision Nationaal Songfestival 1965 Heats Five qualifying heats took place on consecutive evenings between 8 and 12 February. Each involved one of the selected acts performing three songs, with the jury winner from each act going forward to the final. NOS Journaal
NOS Journaal is the umbrella name for the news broadcasts of the Dutch public broadcaster NOS on radio and television. The division of the NOS responsible for gathering and broadcasting the news is known as ''NOS Nieuws'', and is based at the Media Park in Hilversum; the NOS also has fully equipped radio and television studios in The Hague, from which political programmes are often produced. Pipo De Clown
Pipo de Clown is a character created by writer and artist Wim Meuldijk, which became famous as the lead character of a popular early Dutch television series also written by Meuldijk, and which was subsequently popularized in movies and on records. The best-known of Pipo-actors was Amsterdam actor , who played the part in the television series from 1958 to 1968 and from 1974 to 1980. The regular Pipo cast often performed in theaters and for company occasions. Pipo returned to the mainstream in the 2003 movie ''Pipo en de p-p-Parelridder'', and in the 2009-2010 theater season with the musical ''Pipo en de Gestolen Stem''. Humberto Tan-A-Kiam (born 26 October 1965), better known as Humberto Tan, is a Dutch radio and television presenter, sports journalist and writer of Surinamese descent. Career After obtaining his vwo-diploma Tan studied law at the University of Amsterdam, where he obtained his law degree. He made his television debut on Sonja Barend's talk show as a member of ''De tafel van 7'' (English: "The table of 7"). In 1991 the AVRO hired Tan as editor for the television program ''Forza TV'', which he quickly after started presenting together with Jessica Broekhuis.
