The 1964 NAIA Soccer Championship was the sixth annual tournament held by the NAIA to determine the national champion of men's college soccer among its members in the United States. Trenton State defeated Lincoln (PA) in the final, 3–0, to claim the Lions' first NAIA national title. The final was played at Montclair State College in Upper Montclair, New Jersey Upper Montclair is a census-designated place (CDP), unincorporated community and neighborhood within Montclair in Essex County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the population for the CDP was 11,565. 1964 NCAA Soccer Championship
The 1964 NCAA Men's Soccer Tournament was the sixth organized men's college soccer tournament by the National Collegiate Athletic Association, to determine the top college soccer team in the United States. The Navy Midshipmen, in their second straight title game appearance, won their first title, defeating the Michigan State Spartans 1–0 in the final on December 5, 1964. In the title game, all-time lacrosse Hall of Famer Jimmy Lewis scored the game's only goal. Lewis was named the tournament outstanding player. This tournament featured 15 teams, a drop down from 16 teams the previous year. The tournament final was played in Providence, Rhode Island. Rockhurst University is a private Jesuit university in Kansas City, Missouri. Founded in 1910 as Rockhurst College, Rockhurst University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. It enrolled 2,980 students in 2019. History In 1909, Fr. Michael Dowling, S.J., the founder of Rockhurst, purchased of land at 53rd Street and Troost Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri for $50,000. Rockhurst was chartered by the state as Rockhurst College in August 1910.
