1963 NAIA Soccer Championship
The 1963 NAIA Soccer Championship was the fifth annual tournament held by the NAIA to determine the national champion of men's college soccer among its members in the United States. Castleton State and Earlham were declared co-champions after the final match was cancelled due to a snowstorm. It was the first NAIA national title for both the Spartans and the Quakers. The cancelled final was due to be played at Frostburg State College in Frostburg, Maryland. For the first time, the tournament expanded in size, increasing from 8 to 16 teams. The tournament final was played at the old Rutgers Stadium in Piscataway, New Jersey on December 7. The TCNJ Lions are the athletic teams representing The College of New Jersey (TCNJ). They are a member of the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) and compete within Division III of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). Frostburg State University (FSU) is a public university in Frostburg, Maryland. The university is the only four-year institution of the University System of Maryland west of the Baltimore-Washington passageway in the state's Appalachian highlands.
