The Kuwait Premier League (), known as STC Premier League due to sponsorship reasons, is the top division of the Kuwait football pyramid system. Formed in 1961, Al-Arabi, Qadsia and Kuwait both hold the best record in the competition, having won 17 times. Al-Arabi Sporting Club ( ar, النادي العربي الرياضي) is a Kuwaiti sports club club based in Mansuriya, Kuwait City. The most notable section is football team in the Kuwait Premier League. Al-Arabi SC was named ''Al-ʿUrūba'' ( ar, العُروبَة, lit=The Arabism) at the beginning of 1953, and changed to Al-Arabi SC (The Arabian) in 1960. As winners of the Kuwait Emir Cup in 2008, Al-Arabi SC was the first Kuwaiti team to compete in the AFC Cup. Al-Arabi SC has 45 official trophies next to its name (57 domestic and 2 GCC), the most of any Kuwaiti football team. Abdulrahman Al-Dawla
Abdulrahman Al-Dawla Al-Mutawa Al-Qenaei ( ar, عبد الرحمن الدولة المطوع القناعي; born 1941 in Kuwait City) is a former Kuwaiti footballer. He played from 1961 until 1972, and scored 105 goals for his team in the league competition. He was the top scorer in the Kuwait Premier League in 1962–63, 1964–65, 1965–66 and 1966–67. He was also a basketball player. Abdulrahman also played for the Kuwait national football team. He is the first player to score an official goal for the Kuwait national football team. Overview The first season of the Kuwaiti League officially started after the closure of the old clubs and the opening of a new football activity, with the participation of seven new teams between clubs and schools, namely ( Al-Arabi, Al-Qadsia, Al-Kuwait, Thanwit Kifan ''( en, Kaifan High School)'', Thanwit Al-Shoike ''( en, Al-Shuwaikh High School)'', Al-Kalia Al-Saneia ''( en, The Industrial College)'' and Al-Shorta ''( en, The Police)''). 1963–64 Kuwaiti Premier League was the 3rd season of the First League Division. Overview In the third season, it almost witnessed the end of Al Arabi's monopoly on the title after a great competition with Al-Qadsia and the participation of the same six teams in the previous season. Al-Arabi and Al-Qadsia were equal on points after Al-Qadsia inflicted the first defeat of Al-Arabi 2–0 in the last match in the league, and they were equal on points with 18 points for both teams, with Al-Arabi an advantage by goal difference. In the deciding match to determine the league champion, Al-Arabi managed to maintain its title after defeating Al-Qadsia 2–1 to achieve the third title in a row, scoring 42 goals and conceding 9 goals.
