The list of Norwegian monarchs ( no, kongerekken or ''kongerekka'') begins in 872: the traditional dating of the Battle of Hafrsfjord, after which victorious King Harald Fairhair merged several petty kingdoms into that of his father. The online encyclopedia is among the most-read Norwegian published sites, with more than two million unique visitors per month. Paper editions 1978–2007 The ''SNL'' was created in 1978, when the two publishing houses Aschehoug and Gyldendal merged their encyclopedias and created the company Kunnskapsforlaget. Karoline Frogner
Anne Karoline Frogner (born February 3, 1961) is a Norwegian filmmaker, photographer, writer and lecturer. She is one of Norway's foremost documentary filmmakers and is a stills photographer for the image agency Samfoto. She is the director of production company Integritet Film AS and the author of several books. Her films often cover human rights issues. In 1990 she started a children's art centre in Betlehem. Career Born in Farsund, Koch was educated at the Norwegian School of Economics. He started his newspaper career in 1991, when he assumed various administrative positions in ''Adresseavisen''. Kenneth Sivertsen (musician)
Kenneth Sivertsen (16 January 1961 – 24 December 2006) was a Norwegian musician, composer, poet, and comedian. Background Born in Mosterhamn, a small settlement on the Norwegian island of Bømlo, Sivertsen made a musical debut playing the bass guitar at a Christmas party at age 8. Years later he went on to form the group ''One Two Three'' together with his friends. After secondary school he went on to attend Voss Folk High School, where he expanded his musical sensibilities. Several of the guitar pieces he composed at this time went on to be released on his album ''Spør Vinden'' (1988). In 1981 he composed his first symphony, ''Håp'' (Hope), which would go on to be performed by the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra. Throughout the 1980s Sivertsen would become nationally known through several TV appearances and radio broadcasts, as well as musical tours with Jan Eggum, among others. } Sinikka Langeland (born 13 January 1961 in Grue, Norway) is a Norwegian traditional folk singer and musician (kantele), known for combining traditional music with elements of jazz. Career Langeland plays the Finnish National Instrument kantele, but she is also known for her "runesanger" and traditional "kveding". Langeland also teaches these instruments and song techniques. The work "Sammas Himmelsøyle" by langeland, was premiered with Trio Mediæval and Sinikka Langelands Ensemble Finnskogutstillingen in March 2012. Vegard Opaas
Vegard Opaas (born 11 January 1962) is a Norwegian former ski jumper. Career On 15 March 1987 in Planica he jumped 193 metres (633 ft) in the third round, which was canceled right after. At that time this was the second longest jump in history. He had his biggest season in 1987 when he became the first Norwegian ski jumper to win the overall World Cup, a feat later only matched by Espen Bredesen in 1993/94, and Anders Bardal in 2011/12.
