1959 Football Championship Of The Ukrainian SSR
The 1959 Football Championship of UkrSSR were part of the 1959 Soviet republican football competitions in the Soviet Ukraine. Some 80 teams participated this season and were originally split into 10 groups of eight teams each. The first stage lasted from July 5 to October 4. Winners of all qualification groups formed two semifinal groups which were taking place in Kharkiv and Drohobych on October 17-24. Top two team of semifinal groups proceeded to the final group which was taking place in Kyiv on October 28-31. All final group participants were admitted to the 1960 Ukrainian Class B except for SKVO Odesa, a team of which already competed at team of masters at the level. In addition, eight more teams were admitted to the Class B including six teams from qualification groups. Following this season, there were established such teams of masters in Ukraine such as FC Mariupol, FC Volyn Lutsk, FC Podillya Khmelnytskyi, FC Avanhard Sumy, FC Desna Chernihiv. FC Avanhard Zhovti Vody
FC Avanhard Zhovti Vody is a Ukrainian amateur football club from Zhovti Vody, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. In 1959–70 as Avanhard the club participated in the championship of the Ukrainian SSR among teams of masters (professional). Since 1993 it was known as Sirius and in 1994 moved to Kryvyi Rih. In 1995 Sirius was merged with a local amateur team Sportinvest Kryvyi Rih which replaced Sirius in competition for year. In 1996 the club folded. It was replaced by Nyva Bershad. In 2010 was the club refounded. FC Shakhtar Sverdlovsk
Shakhtar Sverdlovsk ( ua, Шахтар Свердловськ) was a professional Ukrainian football club based in Luhansk oblast's Sverdlovsk city (Dovzhansk). The club competed in the Ukrainian Second League but was suspended after the 2013–14 amid the Russian aggression against Ukraine. The club holds a record in number of seasons (23) in which the club was fielding its team/teams in national (republican) amateur competitions (Ukrainian Amateur Football Championship). History Shakhtar Sverdlovsk was founded in 1939. The club represents State Mining Company "Sverdlovantratsyt" (Sverdlov Anthracite). 1959 Soviet Class B
The 1959 Soviet Football Championship, Class B (russian: Чемпионат СССР по футболу 1959 (класс «Б»)) was the tenth season of the Soviet Class B football competitions since their establishment in 1950. It was also the nineteenth season of the Soviet second tier professional football competitions. It involved participation of 101 "teams of masters" split in seven groups which were composed by regional principle to some extent. Compared with the previous season, the number of participants was increased by seven teams. The teams were distributed somewhat equally among the seven groups with three groups containing 15 teams and four groups - 14. The competition also included representation of all 15 union republics by at least one participant. In majority the season kicked off on April 18, 1959, with the Round 1 matches in five groups. Football Sports Club Bukovyna Chernivtsi is a Ukrainian professional football club based in Chernivtsi. History The club was established in 1958 as Avanhard Chernivtsi (Avangard Chernovtsy) for republican competitions and became the first club from Chernivtsi Oblast to be added to the Soviet Class B competition in 1960. Before 1958 Chernivtsi were presented several times by various teams in republican competitions like Burevisnyk (1956), Dynamo (1948, 1950–1955), Spartak (1946, 1947, 1949), Lokomotyv (1949). SKVO Odessa
SC Odesa is a former Ukrainian football team that appeared in 1992 following the reorganization of the Soviet SKA Odesa. The new city municipal team was located in Odesa, Ukraine and previously at one point was part of the Soviet Army sport system. Brief history The club was founded as a sport society of various disciplines in 1944. It began its legacy in the Soviet sport competitions under the name of ODO (Okruzhnoy Dom Offitserov), which meant Regional Officers' Club in Russian.
