1950 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships
The 1950 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships were held in Copenhagen, Denmark. This event was held under the International Canoe Federation. The men's competition consisted of four Canadian (single paddle, open boat) and nine kayak A kayak is a small, narrow watercraft which is typically propelled by means of a double-bladed paddle. The word kayak originates from the Greenlandic word ''qajaq'' (). The traditional kayak has a covered deck and one or more cockpits, each se ... events. Two events were held for the women, both in kayak. Events that debuted at these championships were C-1 10000 m and K-4 10000 m. This was the third championships in canoe sprint. Lennart Klas Valdemar Klingström (18 April 1916 – 5 July 1994) was a Swedish sprint canoeist who competed in the late 1940s and early 1950s. Poul Agger is a Danish sprint canoeist who competed in the late 1940s and early 1950s. He won the silver medal in the K-2 1000 m event at the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki.
