Divizia A
The Liga I (; ''First League''), also spelled as Liga 1, is a Romanian professional league for men's association football clubs. Currently sponsored by betting company Superbet, it is officially known as the SuperLiga. It is the country's top football competition, being contested by 16 clubs which take part in a promotion and relegation system with the Liga II. The teams play 30 matches each in the regular season, before entering the championship play-offs or the relegation play-outs according to their position in the regular table. The Liga I was established in 1909 and commenced play for the 1909–10 campaign, being currently on the 29th place in UEFA's league coefficient ranking list. It is administered by the Liga Profesionistă de Fotbal, also known by the acronym LPF. Before the 2006–07 season, the competition was known as ''Divizia A'', but the name had to be changed following the finding that someone else had registered that trademark. Asociația Clubul Sportiv Petrolul 52, commonly known as Petrolul Ploiești () or simply as Petrolul, is a Romanian professional football club based in Ploiești, Prahova County, which competes in the Liga I. Founded in 1924 in capital Bucharest as ''Juventus'', following the merger of ''Triumf'' and ''Romcomit'', it won its first league championship in the 1929–30 season. In 1952 the team was relocated north to the city of Ploiești, and five years later settled on the name of Petrolul. Bazil Marian
Bazil Marian (7 November 1922 – 19 January 2008) was a Romanian professional footballer and coach. Club career Bazil Marian nicknamed "Bombardierul" (The Bomber) because of his powerful shots was born on 7 November 1922 in Uioara de Sus, Romania and started playing junior level football at age 11 at local club Solvay. He made his Divizia A debut playing for Victoria Cluj on 24 September 1947 in a 2–1 home victory against Venus București. Victoria relegated by the end of the season, but he stayed in Divizia A, playing one season for Mica Brad before moving at Carmen București. At Carmen in December 1946 in a game against Ciocanul București at the score of 4–0 he ran alone towards the opposite goal, dribbled the goalkeeper, after which he sat down with his bottom on the ball and his hand over his eyes, as if looking for his opponents, before pushing the ball into the net. The 1948–49 Divizia B was the 10th season of the second tier of the Romanian football league system. The format was changed from four series of 16 teams to two series, each one of them having 14 teams. CS Târgu Mureș
CS Târgu Mureș was a football club based in Târgu Mureș, Mureș County in central Romania. It was founded in 1944 and it soon became one of the best teams from Mureș. The club was dissolved in 1960. History In 1944, the team of the railway workers, brought together the best players from Târgu Mureș, that previously played for MSE, MNKTE and MAV. The team participated in the local championship under the name of ASM Târgu Mureş. In 1945 ''ASM'' became Dermagant and under this name the team promoted to Divizia A, in 1947, after a play-off match against Karres Mediaș. In 1947 the club changed its name to RATA, after the name of the factory, its main sponsor. In 1950 RATA became Locomotiva, and in 1955 it relegated to Divizia B. Dermata Cluj was a football club from Cluj-Napoca, Cluj County, dissolved in 1967. History The shoes factory from Cluj-Napoca called Echo Cluj created the team and was the main sponsor of the team until 1948. Notable players from that time was Darock, Bagoly, Kallo, Kiss, Toth. Ferencz Ronay was the first big manager who create a competitive team, and played for the first time in Divizia A, the Romanian First Football League. Stadionul Clujana (Clujana Stadium) was the main stadium of the team, situated next to the shoes factory.
