Statistics of Swedish football Division 3 for the 1946–47 season. At the end of this season major re-structuring of the Swedish third tier took place with the number of divisions reduced from 16 sections to 4 sections. There were no promotions to Division 2 and most of the third tier teams were relegated to Division 4 for the 1947-48 season. Division 3 is the fifth level in the league system of Swedish football and comprises 144 Swedish football teams. Division 3 had status as the official third level from 1928 to 1986, but was replaced by Division 2 in 1987. It then had status as the official fourth level until 2005, but was replaced once again as Division 1 was recreated in 2006. The competition There are 144 clubs in Division 3, divided in 12 groups of 12 teams each representing a geographical area. During the course of a season (starting in April and ending in October) each club plays the others twice, once at their home stadium and once at that of their opponents, for a total of 22 games. The top team in each Division 3 group is promoted to Division 2 and the two lowest placed teams from each Division 2 league are relegated in their place. IK Huge is a Swedish football club located in Gävle in Gävleborg County. The club has formerly also been playing bandy. Background Idrottsklubben Huge is a sports club from the district of Bomhus in Gävle. The club was founded on 20 November 1927 through the merger of Kastets IF (formed 3 August 1920) and Bomhus IK (formed 10 July 1921). IFK Gävle was a sports club in Gävle, Sweden. It was founded on 12 March 1897 and the club used the old spelling of their home town's name, ''IFK Gefle'', until 1943.
