1942–43 Taça De Portugal
The 1942–43 Taça de Portugal was the fifth season of the Taça de Portugal (English: ''Portuguese Cup''), the premier Portuguese football knockout competition, organized by the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF). Clube de Futebol Os Belenenses was the defending champion but lost in the quarter-finals to Sporting Clube de Portugal. The final was played on 20 June 1943 between Benfica and Vitória de Setúbal. Lusitano Futebol Clube, often known as Lusitano VRSA, is a Portuguese football club from Vila Real de Santo António, in the Algarve region. Sporting Clube de Portugal, founded Sporting Club de Portugal (), otherwise referred to as Sporting CP, often known abroad as Sporting Lisbon , is a Portuguese professional sports club based in Lisbon. The Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) ( pt, Federação Portuguesa de Futebol; ) is the governing body of football in Portugal. The federation was formed in 1914 as Portuguese Football Union (UPF) by the three existing regional associations of Lisbon, Portalegre and Porto, before adopting its current name in 1926, and is based in the city of Oeiras.
