1933–34 Cupa României
The 1933–34 Cupa României was the inaugural season of the Romania's most prestigious football (soccer) cup competition. In order to promote the competition and encourage clubs to register to the cup, no taxes were enforced on the participants. From the sixty-eight teams registered for the competition, fifty-two were not competing in the top-flight. The competition started in the autumn of 1933. The first phases involved only teams coming from district leagues. The draws were made taking in account logistic difficulties, and sixteen of these clubs advanced to the first round proper, where they were joined by the sixteen teams from Diviza A. The results of the preliminary phase were not recorded. The first winners were Ripensia Timișoara, who defeated Universitatea Cluj in the final. Alexandru Vaida-Voevod
Alexandru Vaida-Voevod or Vaida-Voievod (27 February 1872 – 19 March 1950) was an Austro-Hungarian-born Romanian politician who was a supporter and promoter of the Union of Transylvania with Romania, union of Transylvania (before 1920 part of Kingdom of Hungary, Hungary) with the Romanian Old Kingdom. He later served as 28th Prime Minister of Romania. Clubul Sportiv Municipal Unirea Alba Iulia, commonly known as Unirea Alba Iulia (), is a Romanian professional football club based in Alba Iulia, Alba County, founded in 1924 and currently playing in the Liga III. Among the greatest achievements of the team is a sixth place in the first league at the end of the 2003–04 season and a Romanian Cup semi-final played in 1991. Gloria CFR Arad
Asociația Fotbal Club Gloria Arad, also known as AFC Gloria Arad, or simply as Gloria Arad is a Romanian football club based in Arad, Arad County, currently playing in the Liga VI. The club was originally founded in 1913 by Dr. E. Veliciuiu and the colors were from the beginning yellow and blue. After the World War II, the club struggled to survive and mainly played at the level of the third and fourth tiers, then in the middle of the 2000s promoted back in the Liga III, where it remained until in the early 2010s, under the ownership of Sandu Ion. Finally, the club went bankrupt in 2014, but was re-founded in the spring of 2021 by a group of persons who owned the brand of Gloria Arad. Franco-Româna Brăila
Franco-Româna Brăila (AS Brăilița) is a football team from Brăila, Romania. History Their best performance was reaching the Quarter-finals in Cupa României in 1935–36 season when they lost with 6–4 against Unirea Tricolor București. Franco-Româna Brăila second team was founded in 1940 and was called AS Brăilița. Brăilița was also the neighbourhood and name of the stadium. The stadium was like a small English stadium looking same with the famous Highbury, but in a smaller size. Even they won twice Divizia B they never promoted in Divizia A, because they could not manage to win the Promotion play-off. FC Ripensia Timișoara
Fotbal Club Ripensia Timișoara (), commonly known as Ripensia Timișoara, or simply as Ripensia, is a Romanian professional football club based in Timișoara, Timiș County. It plays in the Liga II. The team was founded in 1928 by Lázár Kornél and folded after twenty years due to lack of funds. However, ''Ripi'' was brought back to life and enrolled in the Liga VI, the sixth tier of the Romanian football league system, in 2012. Ripensia Timișoara was the first Romanian club to turn professional, and because of this status they were unable to compete in the national league until the 1932–33 season. After being granted permission in the national system, the club soon became one of the best in the country, winning four national titles and two national cups in their short history. Șoimii Sibiu
Șoimii Sibiu (Falcons Sibiu) was a football team from Sibiu. They were founded in 1913 and disappeared in 2001. They were a main team in Sibiu, being four times regional champions of Sibiu. Their best pre-war performance was defeating the 6-time-in-a-row champion Chinezul Timişoara in 1927–28 quarter-finals. But after that they forfeited their semi-final tie against Jiul Lupeni. Phoenix Baia Mare was a football club based in Baia Mare, Romania. It was founded in 1932 and dissolved in 2000. The club of the Chemical Factory from Baia Mare, was founded in 1932 and the first leaders were: Petru Wider (Chairman), Şt. Vadász (Sports Director) and Al. Cireşa (General Secretary).
