Charles Kenneth Beatty (April 19, 1905 – September 28, 1977) was an American football and basketball coach. He was the first head football coach at East Carolina Teaching College—now known as East Carolina University East Carolina University (ECU) is a public university, public research university in Greenville, North Carolina. American football (referred to simply as football in the United States and Canada), also known as gridiron, is a team sport played by two teams of eleven players on a rectangular field with goalposts at each end. Maxton, North Carolina
Maxton is a town in Robeson and Scotland counties, North Carolina, United States. The population was 2,426 at the time of the 2010 U.S. Census. History The Maxton area was first settled in the 18th century. The community was incorporated in 1874 under the name of Shoe Heel.
