Primera Fuerza
The Liga Mexicana de Fútbol Amateur Association, known as the Primera Fuerza, was an amateur football league founded in Mexico in 1902 with five clubs: " Orizaba A.C.", " Pachuca A.C.", " Reforma A.C.", "Mexico Cricket Club" and " British Club". Orizaba won the league in its inaugural year. A total of 37 teams took part in this league from 1902 until 1943, when football in Mexico went professional. History Prior to the Liga Mayor, there was no national football league in Mexico and football competitions were held within relatively small geographical regions. The winners of the ''Primera Fuerza'', a local league consisting of teams in and around Mexican Federal District, was considered the national champion. There were other regional leagues such as the '' Liga Veracruzana'', '' Liga Occidental'' and ''Liga del Bajío'' that also had notable clubs. Juan Carreño Lara (14 August 1909 – 16 December 1940) was a Mexican footballer, and a participant of the 1930 FIFA World Cup The 1930 FIFA World Cup was the inaugural FIFA World Cup, the world championship for men's national football teams. It took place in Uruguay from 13 to 30 July 1930. FIFA, football's international governing body, selected Uruguay as host nation .... He was the first Mexican to score in the FIFA World Cup. Veracruz Sporting Club is a Mexican football team from Veracruz, Veracruz State, playing in the Tercera División de México. They were one of Liga MX's inaugural members. History The club was founded in 1908 by the native Spaniards living in Veracruz in the early 1900s. The first owners were the brothers Ángel and Mariano Rivera.
