Harold Ballin
Harold Roy Ballin (October 16, 1893 – December 25, 1979) was an American football player and coach. He played at the tackle position for Princeton University from 1912 to 1914 and was a consensus first-team All-American in both 1913 and 1914. Ballin served as the head football coach at Duquesne University from 1922 to 1923, compiling a record of 4–12. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame as a player in 1973. Biography Early years A native of New York City, Ballin attended the Lawrenceville School before enrolling at Princeton University. He made the Second Testimonial honor roll at Lawrenceville in April 1909. Princeton Ballin later recalled that he was "young and underdeveloped" when he enrolled at Princeton. He had been unable to make the varsity football team at Lawrenceville and qualified for the fourth and final unit of Princeton's freshman football team in 1911. Duquesne University of the Holy Spirit ( or ; Duquesne University or Duquesne) is a private Catholic research university in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. 1922 Detroit Titans Football Team
The 1922 Detroit Titans football team represented the University of Detroit as an independent during the 1922 college football season. In its fifth year under head coach James F. Duffy, Detroit compiled a 7–2–1 record and outscored its opponents by a combined total of 116 to 54. In addition to Duffy, the coaching staff included "Bingo" Brown (backfield coach), Pat Dwyer (American football), Pat Dwyer (line coach), and Harry Crowley (trainer). The team played its home games at the new University of Detroit Stadium, built in 1922 at Livernois Avenue and Six Mile Road. The stadium was commonly known in 1922 as Dinan Field. University of Detroit Stadium, also known as U of D Stadium, Titan Stadium, or Dinan Field, was an outdoor athletic stadium in the north central United States, located on the campus of the University of Detroit in Detroit, Michigan.
