Mariano Amaro
Mariano Rodrigues Amaro (7 August 1914 – 22 May 1987) was a Portuguese football midfielder and manager. Club career Amaro was born in Lisbon. He spent his entire career with local club C.F. Os Belenenses, always in the Primeira Liga. In the 1945–46 season, captain Amaro contributed 22 appearances as the team won the national championship for the first and only time in their history. International career Amaro earned the first of his 19 caps for Portugal on 28 November 2017, in a 2–1 friendly win against Spain in Vigo. Before that match he, alongside teammates João Azevedo, Artur Quaresma and José Simões, refused to perform the fascist salute, being subsequently questioned by PIDE. Aniceto Dos Reis Gonçalves Viana
Aniceto dos Reis Gonçalves Viana (; 1840–1914) was a Portuguese writer and orientalist, who led a committee that made reforms of Portuguese orthography to make it more phonetic. Biography Aniceto dos Reis Gonçalves Viana was born in Lisbon in 1840. His father, who was an actor, and his brother died of yellow fever in 1857. Viana had to concentrate on earning money to support his family. He continued his studies, first studying Greek and then Sanskrit under Guilherme de Vasconcelos Abreu. Maria José Marques Da Silva
Maria José Marques da Silva (1914-1996) was a Portuguese architect who, like her celebrated father, designed buildings in her native city of Porto. In 1943, she became the first woman to graduate as an architect from the Porto School of Fine Arts. Biography Maria José first worked in the office of her father, José Marques da Silva, a highly successful architect in Porto. In 1943, she married the architect David Moreira da Silva. Together they opened their own business, designing a number of buildings and participating in the urban planning of the city while completing works initiated by Marques de Silva. Their principal designs include the ''Palácio do Comércio'' (1946), the ''Trabalho e Reforma'' (1953) and the ''Torre Miradouro'' (1969) buildings in Porto.
