1913 TCU Football Team
The 1913 TCU football team represented Texas Christian University (TCU) as an independent during the 1913 college football season. TCU did not compete in the Texas Intercollegiate Athletic Association (TIAA) as they had in 1912. Led by Fred Cahoon in his first and only year as head coach, TCU finished the season with a record of 5–2–1. Allen Freeman, who played tackle, was the team's captain and Luther Parker was the manager. Frederick Miller Cahoon (November 26, 1876 – September 13, 1945) was an American football, basketball, and baseball coach. He served as head coach in all three sports between 1913 and 1920 at Texas Christian University (TCU), where was also school's director of bands. Brownwood is a city in and the county seat of Brown County, Texas, United States. The population was 18,862 at th2020 census Brownwood is located in the Northern Texas Hill Country and is home to Howard Payne University that was founded in 1889. History The original site of the Brown County seat of Brownwood was east of Pecan Bayou. A dispute arose over land and water rights, and the settlers were forced to find a new location. The ''Houston Post'' was a newspaper that had its headquarters in Houston, Texas, United States. In 1995, the newspaper shut down, and its assets were purchased by the ''Houston Chronicle''.
