1912 Liga Peruana De Football
The 1912 Primera División was the first season of top-flight Peruvian football. A total of 16 teams competed in the league, The champion was Lima Cricket. This first season with organised league, covering Lima, Callao, and suburbs such as Miraflores and Barranco. José Gálvez de Lima withdrew because of not agreeing with the competition format. The clubs from Callao (among which Atlético Chalaco) did not respond to the invitation to enter. The 16 teams were divided over a first and a second level, both of 8 clubs. Cricket and Association finished equal on points; Cricket were declared champions on head-to-head record; Escuela Militar de Chorrillos withdrew halfway through the season when positioned last in the Primera División with a single point. Peruvian Primera División
The Peru First Division (; ''First Division'') —known as Liga 1 Betsson for sponsorship reasons and officially as Liga 1 — is the top flight of association football in Peru. It has been referred to as Torneo Descentralizado since 1966, when the first teams residing outside the Lima and Callao provinces were invited to compete in the inaugural league national competition. The main sponsor is the Spanish telecommunications brand Movistar. There are 20 teams in the division of a league that operates on a system of promotion and relegation determined at the end of the season with the Segunda División and the Copa Perú. Lima Cricket And Football Club
Lima Cricket & Football Club is a Peruvian sports club based in the country's capital city of Lima. Lima Cricket claims to be both the oldest cricket club in South America, and the oldest association football-practising club in Peru and the Americas, having been founded in 1859 by the city's British community. The football team currently participates in the local league of San Isidro District, Lima. Ciclista Lima Association is a Peruvian football club, playing in the city of Lima. It is the second oldest club in Peru. The club was founded 1896 and plays in the Copa Perú, which is the third division of the Peruvian league. History The club was the 1944, 1946, 1949, and 1993 Segunda División Peruana champion. Barranco District
Barranco is one of 43 districts in Lima, Peru. Its current mayor is José Juan Rodríguez Cárdenas. The district is considered to be the city's most romantic and bohemian, being the home and working place of many of Peru's leading artists, musicians, designers and photographers.
