The 1902 Cincinnati football team was an American football team that represented the University of Cincinnati as an independent during the 1902 college football season. In their first season under head coach Anthony Chez, the Bearcats compiled a 4–2–2 record. Harry Box was the team captain. The team played its home games at Carson Field in Cincinnati. Anthony Chez
Anthony Wencel Chez (January 12, 1872 – December 30, 1937) was an American football, basketball, and baseball coach and college athletics administrator. He served as the head football coach at Wabash College (1900), DePauw University (1901), the University of Cincinnati (1902–1903), and West Virginia University (1904), compiling a career college football record of 24–20–2. Chez was also the head basketball coach at Cincinnati (1902–1904) and West Virginia (1904–1907), amassing a career college basketball record of 27–31. In addition, he was the head baseball coach at Wabash in 1901 and Cincinnati from 1903 to 1904, tallying a career college baseball mark of 20–16–2. From 1904 to 1913 Chez served as West Virginia's athletic director. Nippert Stadium
James Gamble Nippert Memorial Stadium is an outdoor stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio, on the campus of the University of Cincinnati. Primarily used for American football, it is the home field of the Cincinnati Bearcats football team. The stadium has also been used as a soccer venue, serving as the home of FC Cincinnati of Major League Soccer from their inaugural 2016 USL season through the 2020 MLS season, following which they moved to TQL Stadium. Nippert Stadium has a seating capacity of approximately 40,000 following the expansion and renovation performed in 2014, and the 2017 removal of corner seats to accommodate FC Cincinnati during their transition to the MLS. This is a list of seasons completed by the Cincinnati Bearcats football team of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I Division I (NCAA)#Football Bowl Subdivision, Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS). Since the team's creation in 1885, the Cincinnati Bearcats, Bearcats have participated in more than 1,200 officially sanctioned games, including 16 bowl games.
