The 18th Guam Legislature was a meeting of the Guam Legislature. It convened in Hagatna, Guam on January 7, 1985 and ended on January 5, 1987, during the 3rd and 4th years of Ricardo J. Bordallo's 2nd Gubernatorial Term. The Legislature of Guam ( ch, Liheslaturan Guåhan) is the law-making body for the United States territory of Guam. The unicameral legislative branch consists of fifteen senators, each serving for a two-year term. All members of the legislature are elected at-large with the island under one whole district. Frank Flores Blas Sr. (March 20, 1941 – August 1, 2016) was a Guamanian politician, businessman and member of the Republican Party of Guam. Blas served as the 5th Lieutenant Governor of Guam from January 5, 1987 until January 2, 1995 for two consecutive terms under Governor Joseph Franklin Ada. Biography Early life Blas was born on March 20, 1941, in Agana, which is now known as Hagåtña, Guam to Vicente Cepeda Blas and Beatrice Leon Guerrero Flores. He attended Father Dueñas Memorial School in Guam, but graduated from St. Augustine High School in San Diego, California. He received an associate's degree from the College of Guam in 1962. Camacho Tanaka (born August 7, 1940) is a Republican politician from Guam, previous Speaker of the territorial Senate from 1979 to 1983, and previous candidate for the position of Governor of Guam. Joseph Franklin Ada (born December 3, 1943), better known as Joseph F. Ada, is an American (U.S. citizen) politician who served as the 5th Governor of Guam from 1987 to 1995. Before his accession to the governorship, Ada previously served as the 3rd Lieutenant Governor of Guam from 1979 to 1983. He is a member of the Republican Party of Guam.
