Kaohsiung Cultural Center
The Kaohsiung Cultural Center () is a cultural center located in Lingya District of Kaohsiung, Taiwan. It was founded by the city government in 1981. The main building of the center is a complex of two concert halls, many galleries, and a library. The office of Kaohsiung Bureau of Cultural Affairs is also located in Kaohsiung Cultural Center. History The cultural center was originally built as a memorial hall for Chiang Kai-shek; its former name was Kaohsiung Chiang Kai-shek Cultural Center (高雄市立中正文化中心). The memorial function was abolished by the city government in 2007, and the name was then changed to the current name. Structure The main building is 13,884 m2, the main audience hall located in the center called Jhihde Hall (至德堂) seats an audience of 1672. This hall is the cultural center for Kaohsiung city. Tony Liu
Tony Liu Tian-jue (born 7 February 1952) is a Hong Kong actor and martial artist. He is often credited by his Cantonese stage name Lau Wing. Liu is best known for starring in many Hong Kong martial arts films, especially in the 1970s and 1980s. He has also acted in some television series. Early life Liu was born in 1952 in Hong Kong. His mother was Lai Man (aka Li Wen, )(1916–1983), who was a well-known actress in Hong Kong. Lau studied in St. Paul's College before going on to learn to play the piano at the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM). He practised martial arts such as Judo, Kung-Fu, Karate, & also learned Jeet Kune Do from Bruce Lee until Lee's death. Li Han-hsiang
Richard Li Han-hsiang (; 7 March 1926 in Huludao, Jinxi, Liaoning – 17 December 1996 in Beijing) was a Chinese film director. Li directed more than 70 films in his career beginning in the 1950s and lasting till the 1990s. His ''The Enchanting Shadow'', ''The Magnificent Concubine'', and ''Empress Wu Tse-Tien (1963 film), Empress Wu Tse-Tien'' were entered into the Cannes Film Festival in 1960, 1962, and 1963 respectively. Li also won the Golden Horse Film Festival and Awards for his work on the movie ''Xi Shi'' in 1965. Most of his movies in the 1970s and 1980s were Chinese historical dramas. Chang Yung-hsiang
Chang Yung-hsiang (26 October 1929 – 8 October 2021) was a Taiwanese screenwriter and director originally from Yantai, China, generally considered one of the most prolific and successful screenwriters in Taiwan. Chang adapted a number of Chiung Yao novels for film. He had received six Golden Horse Awards over the course of his career. In 2016, Chang became the first screenwriter to receive the Golden Horse for lifetime achievement. Among Chang's other awards included the 1976 . He died in Los Angeles, California on 8 October 2021. Raymond Wong Pak-ming (Chinese: 黃百鳴, born 8 April 1946; sometimes transliterated as Raymond Wong Bak-ming) is a Hong Kong film producer, playwright, director and actor. He is one of the most successful producers in Hong Kong cinema, having been one of the comedians to establish Cinema City Studios in 1980. Grace Gua Ah-leh (born 2 June 1944) is a Taiwanese actress and singer. Gua has portrayed over 200 roles in film and television since 1965. George Wang (actor)
George Wang (born Wang Yie, 12 November 1918 – 27 March 2015) was a Taiwanese actor and producer who appeared in a multitude of Italian films. Biography Born in Dandong, Liaoning, Wang enrolled the Shanghai drama school China Film Studio in 1938 and the following year he made his film debut in ''Defending Our Homeland'' (''保家鄉''). In 1949, Wang moved to Taiwan, becoming one of the most important stars in the early years of Taiwanese cinema. At the end of the 1950s he moved to Italy, where he was a very active character actor in genre films, mainly spy films, adventure films and Spaghetti Westerns, being mostly cast in roles of villains.
