1887–88 British Home Championship
The 1887–88 British Home Championship was the fifth edition of the annual international football (soccer), football tournament played between the British Home Nations. It was the first edition of the tournament in which Scotland national football team, Scotland did not at least share in the trophy and was also notable for a record flood of goals, 46 in six games, 26 of them conceded by Ireland national football team (1882–1950), Ireland, who suffered a disastrous competition. Jack Doughty
John "Jack" Doughty (October 1865 – April 1937) was a Welsh association football, footballer who played as a Forward (association football), forward. Born in Bilston, Staffordshire, to an Irish father and a Welsh mother, Doughty started his football career with Druids F.C., Druids before joining Manchester United F.C., Newton Heath in June 1886. He was in the ''Heathens'' team that first joined the Football Alliance in the 1889–90 in English football, 1889–90 season, and made his debut on 30 October 1886 against Fleetwood Rangers F.C., Fleetwood Rangers in the FA Cup. Tinsley Lindley
Dr. Tinsley Lindley OBE (27 October 1865 – 31 March 1940) was an English footballer. He was described as "an ideal centre forward". He scored three goals in his debut aged 16 for Nottingham Forest. The Racecourse Ground ( cy, Y Cae Ras) is a football stadium in Wrexham, Wales. It is the home of Wrexham A.F.C. It is the world's oldest international football stadium that still hosts international matches, having hosted Wales' first home international match in 1877, and has hosted more Wales international matches than any other ground.
