''1883'' is an American Drama (film and television), drama television series created by Taylor Sheridan that premiered on December 19, 2021, on Paramount+. The series stars Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Sam Elliott, Isabel May, LaMonica Garrett, Marc Rissmann, Audie Rick, Eric Nelsen and James Landry Hébert. The series is a prequel to Sheridan's series ''Yellowstone (American TV series), Yellowstone'' and follows the story of how the Duttons came to own the land that would become the Yellowstone Ranch. The first season will consist of ten episodes and conclude on February 27, 2022. On February 15, 2022, Paramount+ announced more episodes were ordered. Timothy Isaiah Courtright (1848 – February 8, 1887), also known as "Longhair Jim" or "Big Jim" Courtright, was a Tarrant County Deputy Sheriff in Ft. Worth, Texas from 1876-1879. Buffalo Soldiers originally were members of the 10th Cavalry Regiment of the United States Army, formed on September 21, 1866, at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
