Hanna Ouchterlony
Hanna Cordelia Ouchterlony (14 September 1838 – 28 February 1924) was a Swedish officer of the Salvation Army. She introduced the Salvation Army in Sweden in 1882, and in Norway in 1888. She served as the leader of the Swedish Salvation Army from 1882 until 1892. Life Hanna Ouchterlony was the daughter of the landowner and deputy governor Fabian Constantin Ouchterlony and Hilda Johanna Servais and born in Värnamo, Sweden. She served as housekeeper with relatives in Stockholm from 1857 to 1864 and then opened a book shop in Värnamo. In the 1870s, she had a religious crisis, and became active within Christian social work. In 1878, she became acquainted with Bramwell Booth, who visited Värnamo for recreation. She became identified with the values of the Salvation Army, and Booth considered her suitable to introduce the movement to Sweden. Axel Elmlund
Axel Elmlund (1838-1901), was a Swedish ballet dancer and stage actor. He was the son of the shoemaker Sven Axel Elmlund and Christina Dorothea Wilhelmina Björkman. He never married. He was a student of the Royal Swedish Ballet at the Royal Swedish Opera in 1850-55, a figurant dancer in 1855-58, and a pantomime dancer in 1858-61. He was a recognized for his ability as a dancer by August Bournonville, who reportedly lamented Elmlund's choice to interrupt a promising career as a dancer to retrain as an actor instead. Hedvig Raa-Winterhjelm
Hedvig Charlotta Raa-Winterhjelm, née Forssman (20 November 1838 – 7 March 1907), was a Swedish actress active in Sweden, Norway and Finland. She played a pioneer role in Finland by introducing Finnish as a stage language, becoming the first actor in Finland to speak her lines in the Finnish tongue. Early career Charlotta Raa-Winterhjelm was born as the daughter of a goldsmith in Stockholm in Sweden under the name Charlotte Forssman. She studied at the Royal Dramatic Training Academy in Stockholm in 1854–56, after which she toured in travelling theater companies in Sweden and Finland. In 1860, she was employed at the ''Mindre teatern'' in Stockholm. In 1863, Mindre teatern was taken over by the Royal Dramatic Theatre. Many of the actors was given a contract in the new theatre. Betty Pettersson
Betty Maria Carolina Pettersson (Visby 14 September 1838–7 February Stockholm 1885), was a Swedish teacher. She became the first official female university student in Sweden in 1871. She was also the first female student of Uppsala University, the first woman in Sweden to have graduated from a university, and the first woman to have been a teacher at a gymnasium. Life Betty Pettersson was born to the saddle maker Olof Pettersson and Magdalena Sofia Carolina Kullberg in Visby. She was not born into a wealthy family; however, when she was discovered to be a talented student, she was given the opportunity to study at a private girls' school in Visby, where normally only pupils from wealthy families were accepted. Hilda Petrini
Hilda Catharina Petrini (9 October 1838, Stockholm – 30 January 1895, Stockholm) was a Swedish watchmaker, clock maker and businesswoman. She has been referred to as the first female master of mechanics of her country. Life and work Hilda Petrini belonged to a wealthy old merchant family of Italian descent in Stockholm.
