August Malmström
Johan August Malmström (14 October 1829 – 18 October 1901) was a Swedish painter. As an artist, he was known for his country motifs often featuring children. His most widely recognized work is ''Grindslanten'' (1885) featuring a typical scene from 19th century Sweden. Influenced by the national romanticism of Gothicismus, he also collected motives from Norse mythology. He made illustrations for publications of both Frithiofs saga (''Friðþjófs saga hins frœkna'') and The Tales of Ensign Stål (''Fänrik Ståls sägner''). Malmström served as a professor at the Royal Swedish Academy of Arts and later manager of the same institution. Malmström was also an illustrator who worked for several newspapers and book publishing houses. Additionally, Malmström designed furnitures, worked as a pattern drawer and was a designer for Gustavsberg porcelain. Carl Gustaf af Leopold (1756, Stockholm – 9 November 1829, Stockholm) was a Swedish poet. Biography He attained distinction in Swedish letters, his first work to attract wide attention being his ''Ode on the Birth of the Prince-Royal Gustavus Adolphus'' (1778). He was appointed private secretary to Gustavus III in 1788 and stood high in the regard of that monarch. His odes on the martial achievements of the Swedes were among his most popular productions, and his tragedies ''Odin'' (1790) and ''Virginia'' (1902) were highly successful. He attempted all forms of poetry save the epic. In 1799 he was made deputy director ( sv, kansliråd). In 1818 he was appointed State Secretary. He was a bulwark of French Classicism against the attacks of the Romantic Phosphorists. Princess Sophia Albertina of Sweden (''Sophia Maria Lovisa Fredrika Albertina''; 8 October 1753 – 17 March 1829) was the last Princess-Abbess of Quedlinburg Abbey, and as such reigned as vassal monarch of the Holy Roman Empire. Sophia Albertina was the daughter of King Adolf Frederick of Sweden and Louisa Ulrika of Prussia. She was thus a princess of Sweden, a princess of Holstein-Gottorp and a sister to Gustav III of Sweden. She was a member of the Accademia di San Luca. Emanuella Ottiliana Carlbeck (24 August 1829 – 10 September 1901) was a Swedish pedagogue and is counted as a pioneer in the education of students with Intellectual disability.Grunewald, Karl (2009). Hanna Hammarström
Johanna (Hanna) Hammarström was a Swedish inventor who was born on 4 September 1829 and died on 27 November 1914. Although telephones had already been invented, no one in Sweden could manufacture the copper wires needed to function telephones. She became the first person in Sweden to manufacture telephone wires and ran her own business in the production of these wires. Early life Hanna Hammarstrom was born on 4 September 1829 in Stockholm, Sweden, to her parents Nils Hammerstrom and Christina Holmberg [2]. Her father was a cotton and silk merchant in Stolkholm, but was originally from Dalarna, a central province of Sweden a little more than 300 km away [1]. While completing her early education at Ms. Norbergson's girls' school, her father encouraged her to learn a trade. She apprenticed for a handicraft maker, who specialized in small wire ornaments. Augusta Björkenstam
Augusta Björkenstam (3 December 1829 - 10 July 1892) was a Swedish countess and businessperson. She founded the transport company ''Stockholms Expressbyrå'' (1877), which managed the transport of luggage from the Stockholm Central Train Station to its recipients. Her company was eventually also engaged by the authorities, the customs, railway stations, boat traffic and shops as well as the postal offices.
