Anna Sophia Holmstedt
Anna ''Sophia'' Holmstedt (1759–1807) as married Anna Sophia Bleumortier, was a Swedish ballet dancer and translator. Sophia Holmstedt belonged to the pioneers of Swedish ballet at the Royal Swedish Ballet upon its foundation in Bollhuset in 1773. In 1774, at the age of fifteen, she debuted as a translator by a translation of the French comedy play ''Slafhandlaren i Smirna'' (''Le Marchand de Smyrne'') by Nicolas Chamfort in collaboration with Olof Kexel. It was recommended for "an unusually beautiful and easy Swedish". The play was performed on the Stenborg theatre in Stockholm on Monday 24 October 1774 in dedication to king Gustav III of Sweden. Holmstedt was admired by her contemporaries and given the recognition of a "Literary woman". Anna Christina Cronquist
Anna Christina Cronquist, née ''Lundgren'' (1807–1893), was a Swedish entrepreneur. She was the founder of the firm '' A.C. Cronquist & Son'', which was the start of the Cronquist Era within manufacture and Major appliance business in Malmö. Life Anna Christina Cronquist married in 1830 to Johan Cronquist (d. 1852), editor and publisher of the newspaper '' Malmö Nya Allehanda'' in Malmö. As the income from the paper was not sufficient to support a family, she gave lessons in weaving: skilled in the art, she published the possibly first instruction book in weaving in Swedish in 1845. Between 1849 and 1865, Cronquist managed a very successful textile shop, which became the biggest in Malmö and reputed in all Scania. She was likely the first married woman in Sweden to have started her own firm rather than to have inherited it, and she was also the first married woman to have started a firm in her own name: ''A.C. Sophie Bolander
''Sophie'' Christina Mathilda Bolander (28 January 1807 – 2 June 1869), was a Swedish author. She is most famed for her participation in the contemporary debate on gender issues. Life Sophie Bolander was born in Gothenburg, the daughter of the wealthy factory owner Gustav Erik Bolander (d. 1826) and Johanna Kristina Carlström. She never married. She lost her mother at an early age, and after the death of her father, she lived with her brother. She worked as a governess in the household of count Posse in 1838–1844, and as a music teacher in the ''Kjellbergska flickskolan'' in 1845–1855. Career Her anti-aristocratic novel ''Trolldomstecknet'' (The Magic Sign) has been regarded as one of the first tendency novels in Sweden. Emilie Flygare-Carlén
Emilie Flygare-Carlén (''née'' Smith; August 8, 1807, StrömstadFebruary 5, 1892, Stockholm) was a Swedish people, Swedish novelist. Biography Emilie Smith grew up in the archipelago of Bohuslän. Her father, Rutger Smith, was a retired sea captain who had settled down as a small merchant, and she often accompanied him on the voyages he made along the coast. She thus came in frequent contact with the seafaring folk, fishermen, and smugglers who were to populate her later stories. At the age of twenty, she married a local physician, Axel Flygare, and went with him to live in the province of Småland. She was widowed in 1833, returned to her old home, and decided to devote herself to literature. She moved to Stockholm some years later, and in 1841 she married a lawyer, publicist and poet of that city, Johan Gabriel Carlén (1814–1875). Cecilia of Sweden (22 June 1807 in Stockholm – 27 January 1844 in Oldenburg) was a composer, a Swedish princess by birth, and Grand Duchess of Oldenburg by marriage. She was the daughter of King Gustav IV Adolf of Sweden and Frederica of Baden. Biography After birth, she was raised under the supervision of the royal governess Charlotte Stierneld. The youngest of four children, Cecilia left Sweden in 1810 with her family after her father was deposed as king of Sweden by the Coup of 1809. She was raised in her mother's home country, the Grand Duchy of Baden (Germany).
