Magnus Brahe (1790–1844)
Count Nils Magnus Brahe (1790–1844) was a Swedish statesman and soldier, known as the influential favorite of king Charles XIV John of Sweden. Nils Magnus Brahe was the son of Swedish Count Magnus Fredrik Brahe (1756–1826) in his first marriage with Baroness Ulrika Katarina Koskull (1759–1805), and thus a member of the Brahe comital family. He was also a descendant of Swedish statesman Per Brahe. After studying in the University of Uppsala, he began his professional military career. He fought in the War against Napoleon (1813–1814) under Jean Bernadotte who later ascended to the throne as Charles XIV John of Sweden (Swedish: ''Karl XIV Johan''). He was in high favour with the French born king who had a poor command of the Swedish language. He became Marshal of the Realm, and especially from 1828 onwards, exercised an influence in public affairs. Karl Fredrik Dahlgren
Karl Fredrik Dahlgren (1791–1844) was a Swedish poet. At a time when literary partisanship ran high in Sweden, and the writers divided themselves into Goths and Phosphorists, Dahlgren made himself indispensable to the Phosphorists by his polemical activity. In the mock-heroic poem of ("Markall's Sleepless Nights"), in which the Phosphorists ridiculed the academician Per Adam Wailmark and others, Dahlgren, who was a genuine humorist, took a prominent part. Life He was born at Stensbruk in Östergötland on 20 June 1791. In 1825 he published ("The Tower of Babel"), a satire, and a comedy, ; and in 1828 two volumes of poems. In 1829 he was appointed to an ecclesiastical post in Stockholm, which he held until his death. In a series of odes and dithyrambic pieces, entitled (1819, 1820), he strove to emulate the wonderful lyric genius of Carl Michael Bellman, of whom he was a student and follower. Countess Anna Fridrica Wilhelmina von Hallwyl, née Kempe (1 October 1844 − 25 July 1930) was a Swedish collector and donor whose accumulation of art and other objects constitute the current Hallwyl Museum in Stockholm. Biography Wilhelmina was born in Stockholm, the only child and heiress of the wealthy timber-merchant Wilhelm Kempe of Ljusne-Woxna AB. At the age of 20, she married the Swiss-born Count Walther von Hallwyl (1839–1921), a captain in the Swiss general staff who later became a Swedish citizen. Wilhelm Von Gegerfelt
Wilhelm von Gegerfelt, also Vilhelm von Gegerfelt, (9 November 1844 – 2 April 1920) was a Sweden, Swedish painter. Biography Born in Gothenburg, Gegerfelt was the son the architect Victor von Gegerfelt (1817–1915). From 1861 to 1863, he studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Royal Danish Academy, at the Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts, Royal Swedish Academy from 1864 to 1867, and thereafter in Düsseldorf until 1872. He then went to Paris where he developed a new technique joining Alfred Wahlberg as one of the first Swedes to represent the Modern Breakthrough in Nordic art. He travelled to the north coast of France, to Italy and to England, painting landscapes of Venice's lagoons and the English chalk cliffs, in addition to scenes of summer evenings in Sweden. His works can be seen in the Nationalmuseum, National Museum in Stockholm, in the Gothenburg Museum of Art and in Skagens Museum.
