The 17th Filmfare Awards were held on May 11, 1970. '' Aradhana'' led the ceremony with 9 nominations, followed by ''Jeene Ki Raah'' with 6 nominations. '' Anokhi Raat'' won 4 awards, including Best Screenplay (Hrishikesh Mukherjee) and Best Dialogue (Anand Kumar), thus becoming the most-awarded film at the ceremony. Aradhana (1969 Film)
''Aradhana'' () is a 1969 Indian Hindi romantic drama film directed by Shakti Samanta, starring Sharmila Tagore and Rajesh Khanna. It won the Filmfare Award for Best Film at the 17th Filmfare Awards. Tagore won her only Filmfare Best Actress Award. Originally released in Hindi and dubbed in Bengali, ''Aradhana''s huge success led to two remakes: the Tamil film ''Sivagamiyin Selvan'' (1974) and the Telugu film ''Kannavari Kalalu'' (1974). Bindu Nanubhai Desai (born 17 April 1941), better known mononymously as Bindu, is a former Indian actress who was popular in the 1970s. She has acted in over 160 movies in a career that spanned four decades, receiving seven Filmfare award nominations. Brigadier Balraj (born Balasegaram Kandiah) was a senior commander of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE). Early life Balraj was the fifth and youngest child of Kandiah and Kannagias. He received his primary education in Kokkuthoduwaai (in Mullaitheevu district) and his secondary education in Pulmoddai (in Trincomalee district). After he passed his O levels, his parents wanted to send him to university; however, due to civil unrest throughout the country they were unable to do so.
