Carl August Thielo
Carl August Thielo (February 7, 1707 – December 3, 1763) was a Danish composer. theatre entrepreneur, music teacher, organist from Saxony. He spent most of his life in Copenhagen from the 1720s onwards and founded the first opera house there in 1746. A student of Johann Gottfried Walther, he was the author of a Danish treatise, ''Tanker og Regler fra Grunden af om Musiken'', published in 1746. Thielo was also the German court organist under Christian VI. He was the father of Caroline Thielo. Jacob Fosie
Jacob Fosie (1679 – 1 December 1763) was a Danish artist, watercolor painter, etcher, engraver, organist and author. Early life Fosie was born in Copenhagen, of English descent. He was a student of Hendrick Krock. He painted landscapes in watercolor, mostly in the style of Dutch masters. Fosie held a salon for artists in his home. Among the frequent guests were the artists Johan Martin Preisler, Gustav de Lode and Michael Keyl, the painters Johan Hörner and Carl Gustaf Pilo, the sculptor Simon Carl Stanley, the poet Christian Frederik Wadskiær and several other writers. Family He married Anna Dorothea Ilsøe and they had three children. Frederik Christian von Haven (26 June 1728 – 25 May 1763) was a Danish philologist and theologian who took part in the Danish expedition to Yemen. Biography Background and early life Frederik von Haven was born on 26 June 1728 in the rectory of Vester Skerninge on the Danish island of Funen, where his father Lambert von Haven was a priest, and christened on 3 July in the Church of Our Lady in Odense. His mother was Maren, ''née'' Wielandt. He had three sisters; he was especially close to Pernille Elisabeth von Haven, who never married. The von Haven family probably came from North Germany. They were in Bergen in Norway in the 17th century, and later moved to Denmark. The earliest Danish-born von Havens were painters or architects, for example Lambert van Haven (1630–1695), who designed the Thott Mansion, the dome hall of Charlottenborg Palace and all but the tower of the Church of Our Saviour in Copenhagen. Frederick V (Danish and Norwegian: ''Frederik V''; 31 March 1723 – 14 January 1766) was King of Denmark–Norway and Duke of Schleswig-Holstein from 6 August 1746 until his death in 1766. He was the son of Christian VI of Denmark and Sophie Magdalene of Brandenburg-Kulmbach. Although the personal influence of Frederick was limited, his reign was marked by the progress of commerce and trade, and art and science prospered under his reign. Unlike his parents who were deeply devoted to Pietism, Frederick grew into a hedonist. As regent, he took part in the conduct of government by attending council meetings, but he was afflicted by alcoholism and most of his rule was dominated by able ministers who were influenced by the ideas of the Age of Enlightenment. His ministers marked his reign by the progress of commerce and the emerging industry. They also avoided involving Denmark-Norway in the European wars of his time.
